I'll say she is. I have just been stepping through the screen into my head-canon and speaking with her. Hannah says that her middle name is Eleanor, after her mommy and that she also has a nursing degree. She has already told me about her husband, Branimir, who was once a Major in the Alfa Group and was later in the Russian Federal Protective Service, at the head of the president's security detail. So, my Shepard is not simply Canadian, but rather she is one of the Russo-Canadians. My Shepard loves foreign cultures and she can speak many languages without a translator including even a major dialect of the Batarians, and in particular she has perfect fluency in a major dialect of the asari. She can even throat-sing a very small number of the words of the Turians, but not enough to be useful -- most such words are not compatible with our soft tissue and vocal chords. That is to say, she has one of the same kinds of voracious fascinations that I have -- the fascination with cultures. My Zhenia pummeled the mind of the racist on Pinnacle station by speaking according to his own lifeways. She quoted the relevant legal ruling of the Turians, that humans could register duels and blood feuds against Turians and thus get official permission to conduct them, in the same way as the Turians did among themselves. For his government would grant permission, because now there were witnesses to his having insulted her honor and that of a fellow soldier, saying both had cheated at the simulation.

["My" Zhenia answers her, speaking in Tyann'asyárriyhha learned for her sake:]
Every time I kill it is in your name.
Every time I watch you fight, I want to make love.
Every breath I take it is for you, every time I see you I want to write you another love-poem [which in fact I have].
Every breath of your voice I cry at its beauty.
When I saw that bomb I severed their limbs and I cut them into pieces while they were still alive, weeping and bellowing your name [crying so hard I could not see the screen] and the pieces of Vasir, I bit a vein from her and spat her blood and in the sight of the one who sent her there, threw down organs that I had taken from her.
I will find the secret of another Way, if there be no relays. The Reapers teleportation without relays ... I will find it even if I must cut it from the entrails of our enemies. From my Earth, I WILL FIND YOU AND I WILL COME BACK TO YOU OR I DO NOT DESERVE TO LIVE. I WILL. Little blue children. To death and past it. The refugees crying for aid, no trade, no food, no life, no hope. I will help you help them.
I ordered you to the escape pod. You are not a soldier, but a civilian, you were never Sworn as we. But you showed ritual respect to me, though not required by custom. You did not say yes, nor did you say do I have to, nor did you say as you wish. You said aye aye. That will echo in me until my last moment.
I wept. [I indeed did.]

Yes, you can give one -- you just have not been inspired/don't feel like it/you've convinced yourself you can't do things like that which is a very bad self-lie and very sad. Try not to think negative stuff about yourself. Almost anyone can do almost anything.
It is very hard for me, too. I have no wish to be weird, but I am really good at channeling fictional characters and being them. And I really would love her. I don't tell lies. I felt suicidal after Mordin died, my father was a social worker and he suicided some years ago. I actually started shouting that they should take the real me instead of Mordin. Mordin and Liara are the only ones who would be as intellectual as me, so I really really care about them. Joker, I very much don't like him because he is too informal, and I would have constantly struggled to restrain myself from either disciplining him or hitting him -- DID I GIVE PERMISSION FOR YOU TO TELL JOKES *ON DUTY* YOU UNDISCIPLINED ... ?! In LotSB, when Liara said that Joker had asked her if she and Shepard "would be acting out scenes from some vid called Vaenya," the real me felt so angry that I wanted to break his arm. And that is really saying something, because the real me has a mobility impairment too.
Though it would make me sad, I will understand if it turns out to be too hard for you to tell me what you think about my poems. Still, please tell me wether you read them. It is important to me. When I put things in brackets, it means that is what I was actually feeling when I was playing the game.

Zhenia
I know this is more than unhealthy fascination with me, I can tell by intent behind the poems. No one has express there utter undying love in such a potent way to me before. Maybe I just never took the time to hear them out. You mirror feels similar to how I feel towards Shepard, but I know their is a lot on his plate with shepard.I just so troubled with a decision I do not mean to offend you. The internal struggle within between the my duty as the shadow broker and my possible for feelings of a fulfilling life with either Shepard or you. With you we will be loving equals, its just hard not to be true to my feelings with Shepard, he was the first to truly believe me who wasn't my mothers, he inspired like nobody else could. He should me what was at stake if people sat back and let corruption and fear run galaxy. But he still seems so distant he is a living legend, how do you confess your love to a legend who so many people have strong feelings for. Is wrong to want him all to myself, I fought for him when most had given up on him. But all resources and knowledge I never get another chance like this and even if I stepped down who would take my place, it selfish of me but for greater good I must somebody else might get it wrong. I will decide However, I would be opposed to a in-depth physical examination study of your athletic abilities before I head back to resume Shadow Broker duty on the Normandy. If I remember correctly, it's customary to be intimate with ones you have feelings with before a suicidal last stand mission.

[in character] I didn't realize that because other dimensions contained other versions of me, there must also be more than one of you, more than one Liara. As you may gather, I am a woman. I will not pursue a version of you that loves a man, I will not betray your Shepard with you, I love you too much. Go get him! You can take a wireless link with you and get off that ship, while you can still be the Shadow Broker. Watch out, Cerberus is coming after you ... I will not insult you by suggesting you did not know already. Success in battle and death to your enemies. I only wish I could have known your mother.
[out of character] I purchased a book on lucid dreaming so that I could spend more time with Liara. The real me could spend YEARS just talking and laughing with Liara about science. The real me once had a long dream of talking about vampire archeology with actual vampires. Zhenia told me that her universe's Liara has learned from her to like pizza. I do know that Thane always hates cereal.
If you do not mind my asking you Jo, what is your native language? You are making good progress with your English. The real me is a man, named Julian (~SithiR). You can call me Julian if you want to talk to Julian and not Zhenia. Her surname is Pastushkova, which -- if you do not know -- is the feminine version of the name Shepard in Russian. Her mommy was from Canada, and her dad was from Serbia. He used to be in Spetzgruppa Alfa, after which he became the leader of the bodyguards to the Russian President, but he made a mistake and was disgraced because of a bombing. Zhenia became a soldier for the family honor. Zhenia is not one of those who falls in love with men.

Haha my main language is English, I was just jumping around inserting what I thought up of when I was reading Liara dialogue lines and short stories.I got lazy on reading it over for clarity and whether or not it flowed. Also I should of asked you before hand about the character before posting, I just assumed an OC character who was with liara before ME1 a bit and a bit after ME1.

I look forward to being able to say the best comprehensively wonderful comments about it after I finish reading the entire work. I enjoy the fact that I can actually understand every single one of your side references.
When Matthews aimed the gun wrong, I would have pulled an Article 15 non-judicial punishment on Matthews, so quickly that the person's feet would not have had time to touch the floor. This would not have been because of anger, but to help Matthews remember, by association with the memory of punishment. Sometimes people must be punished out of our reverence for them, because we care about them.

There are a lot of side references peppered in there -- I've probably forgotten half of what I put in early chapters.
Had to look up article 15. There are parts of the story where I can apply quite a bit of real-world knowledge, but the military (and firearms) certainly aren't one of 'em. I try and keep it vague and hope the ignorance doesn't shine through.

SithiR In reply to ShadesOfMauve [2012-03-28 19:06:21 +0000 UTC]
I cannot tell wether you are seriously denigrating yourself, seriously claiming to be ignorant. If so, everything sparkles about the story and about you, and you are so intelligent, and everybody can have fun learning new things.
I loved the part were Moreau mentioned that the psychological problems of recently reanimated people did not yet appear in the version of the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders which they had reached by that time in history. It cracked me up and it excited me because you are smart like me. It makes me wish that it were possible for me to ask you out.
My father was a social worker. He suicided in '07. I got all confused in my heart between Mordin and my dad. At what befell Mordin I wept and was suicidal for three days and shouting take me instead of Mordin, out loud.
I always play femshep and I always burn for Liara, because no dishonor (not a service-member) and so smart and silly and nice and captivating gorgeous interesting. Days and days of just talking about culture, science, and all her/my/our learnings. My learning disability has a tendency to switch off my ability to see shades of gray or to be funny, without warning. I could never violate honor by courting, or being courted by a service-member, for if I were Shepard I would be a service-member. Nor could I touch someone who had ever accepted money to kill others without lawful orders from a legitimate political authority.
For me, it shook me when I told Liara my dear one to go to the escape pod and she actually said aye aye. My mouth dropped open and I started to weep and I said out loud you are a civilian you don't ... you don't have to respond with the same procedural words as if you were one of ... you are not sworn ... and yet you do me the honor ...
Little blue children.
To death and past it.
I wrote the part of the trivia here that concerns the salutes.

I don't mean to be overly modest; I think knowing one's own limitations is a good thing, and so I'm careful when I write about things I haven't experienced (the military, guns, etc). And you're very flattering, but my boyfriend would be hurt.
I'm so sorry to hear about your father, and how deeply the game affected you. When they made it so grim, I wonder if they realized how engaged we get? It is DESIGNED to pull on your emotions, even more so than a book or movie.
I will happily read your poems, but I'm afraid I don't know anything about how to review poetry.
Have a lovely day (or evening, whenever it is wherever you are).

Thank you! Perhaps I should not have used the word "review." It probably left entirely the wrong impression. Did my poems make you feel anything in particular? If so, what? If you have no criticism or encouragement of any sort, it would be okay with me.
Actually I would not have guessed that, as you put it, all of the crap Joker gets is stuff you learned from experience. If you ever want to tell me what those [deleted] Western biomedicine people say you "present with," I would be honored to know, if not, that is obviously up to you.
So, looking at your signature icon thing, do you study the violin? The article 15 thing, it was just to evoke making you curious so that you would look up something cool. I am sure Rhi came up to face a few nonjudicial punishments, or missed them narrowly. Some people say that the scabbard which went with Excalibur was named Rhiannon. There is, of course, more than one name for Excalibur, but it may well be that you already know all about such subjects. Are you in school, or what did you study? I have a BA in Asian history and minored in Spanish. I work in a chocolate shop. All I know is academic matters. I do not want to bombard you with information that might not interest you, so I will wait to see what questions you may have. I do, however, love to talk and answer questions.
I have well over 10,000 words head-canon about my conception of Shepard and her friends. But those words are mostly their so-called "service jackets," numbers, statistics, emotionless data. You have not asked, and after all you are busy. It feels as though the very best creative stuff happens when I miss my meds. Being bipolar-II, I kinda don't want to do that. Most of my poetry, is after all extremely agapic and chivalric love poetry. I also drew a portrait of Arthur High King and a portrait of Guenhumara. Did I mention that you are lucky because you have a dear one?
I think that Zhenia would agree with Rhi about the friend with batteries. Just not the casual cursing or ever having mated with someone she knew ahead of time she was not going to marry. It is dumb, however, that The Art does not constitute a league sport with teams, commentators and everything. As for Zhenia, she thinks of herself as being highborn. if asked why she chose Liara as her first, besides adoring her, Zhenia would say that she had never met anyone who was worthy.
Do you also keep a pet animal other than an H. sapiens sapiens?
EDI: That was a joke.

Oh, I'm not shy about the medical stuff, though I won't answer all those questions on this public forum. The big one is that i have a fairly significant limb length discrepancy and had surgery for that and related issues in my teens.
I do play violin; mostly traditional Irish and Quebecois fiddle. And I have two kitties, who are siblings and terrors of the household.
I'm afraid Rhi's cursing is only *slightly* worse than mine, though I don't have some of her other bad habits.

You are *very* welcome, and you are also very beautiful if I may say so. It would be a wonderful crossover to have a Yautja in Shepard's squad. There is Yautja known as Scarred Face, and he appears in the console game called "Predator: Concrete Jungle." Perhaps you know of my friend, Scarred Face? I only have a Macintosh, but I have seen the game on the Internet. Never have I encountered so much data as in this game, so that I could understand in detail how their honor code works, with an actual list of precepts and everything. Could you and I talk more about this? I have written down some interesting conclusions, and would love to know your own. I think that if we talked more, it could be fun. If you agree, my e-mail address is jgarb2@comcast.net

Wether asari evolved in the sea
Wether asari have vestigial ink glands
Wether asari breast-feed babies
Wether asari give milk, or black ink with nutrients and antibodies added?
Wether asari have baleen?

Below is an extremely crude summation I have written about "my friend" Scarred Face, who is "trapped in a video game," as it were. What I have written below uses some strange terminology borrowed from the pen-and-paper roleplaying game system called GURPS® (for example TL is an abbreviation for technological level). I don't play GURPS either, nor do I have friends who play it. It just helps give me a mental shorthand to write down notes about creative stuff.
