Description
In my study of faces with strong character I was happy to find this character standing above the mist high in the Himalayan Mountains. I can only assume he is a Sherpa.Researching the tribes of that region I was surprised to find that Sherpa is actually a tribe in Northeastern Nepal rather than a job title.
Everything about this character fascinates me and I'm pleased with the results of my rendering.
Drawn on Bristol Velum 9"x12" with 5h, hb & 4b pencil, kneaded eraser and tissue. Approx 10 hrs over 2 week period.

Thank you. I really enjoyed developing this one. Adding the distant mountains behind and above the mist was an after thought but I think it really gave the Sherpa a sense of height. Look into his googles and you see the darkened reflection o Mt Everest ahead of him.
