Year: 2013Just a doodle from my sketchbook.
I once chatted with QueenVanillaCoke about how Death might look under the mask. And I couldn't help but put my interpretation on paper immediately. I know, he isn't undead or anything but I like the thought of him being a not-so-handsome-but-more-mangled type of guy. *cough*fetish*cough*

Yeah I had the same idea.
Why is it 80% of people in games or movie think the good guy or in this case, the cool badass guy, has to be looking good or clean.I never understood that.
They didn't do teeth on the mask and I think it's a good idea, it would have looked too skeleton like, but with your interpretation you make justice to a character who is supposed to be feared, (as stated several time in the game.)
Even if this is just a sketch this is great, thanks for sharing.

My thoughts exactly on the appearance.
Right, the toothless mask looks so much creepier than the face of a skull. It's a blank expression and nobody knows what's going on behind it. It's a very nice design, I think.

There's actually a source that shows the silhouette of Death's face and him having lips but as long as it's not officially confirmed or shown in a game, I'll stick to my imagination.

It's in the comic "Death's Door".
There's a flashback scene in which the horsemen get their horses. Death doesn't wear a mask at this point but you can only see the outline of his face.

Ich fand den Gedanken cool und in einer Welt wie Darksiders ist theoretisch nichts unmöglich.
Obwohl man ja sagen muss, dass im Comic "Death's Door" zu sehen ist, dass er Lippen hat. Mehr oder weniger jedenfalls, zumindest scheint er ein normales Gesicht zu haben, wenn man das aus dem dunklen Profil schließen kann. Könnte man durchaus als offiziell betrachten.

Ja du hast Recht. Im Darksidersuniversum ist alles möglich, aber ein wenig Logik muss dabei sein. Ohne Lippen is nich mit sprechen und das wäre ziemlich schade.
Ich liebe Tod's herrlich sarkastische, arschige Art xD Hach er ist einfach ein toller Kerl. Ein richtiger "Harte Schale, weicher Kern" Typ 
Ich müsste mir den Comic nochmals ansehen. So genau hab ich das nicht mehr auf dem Schirm.

Keine Bishi-Faces in Darksiders. Ich persönlich mag ja die Interpretation von Notesz sehr. Auch die paar Sachen, die sie zu Strife gemacht hat, treffen den Nagel auf den Kopf.

Strife in ihrem Stil ist ziemlich gewagt....eine Freundin meinte sogar, er sähe wie ein fieser kleiner Gremlin aus xDDD Mit ein bisschen Vegeta obendrauf |D

Ich persönlich finde das keine so schlechte Kombination. Ich stelle mir bei Strife auch vor, dass man seinem Gesicht das fiese Arschkind ansieht. xD Mit listigen Augen wie hier .
Trotzdem hoffe ich, dass man bei Strife die Maske oben lässt. Besser, wenn man sich seine eigenen Vorstellungen machen kann als etwas akzeptieren zu müssen, was einem nicht gefällt.

Ich weiss nicht. Irgendwie wirkt er so jung auf mich. Wenn man bedenkt wie alt die Nephilim überhaupt sind. Und das Strife ein kleines Arschloch ist, ist seit dem Buch kein Geheimnis mehr xD
Da find ich die Zeichnung von KamikazeChickenWing wesentlich realistischer (auch wenn er in ihren Stil manchmal wie ein junger Bub aussieht xD)
Ich bin aber mal gespannt, ob Tod im dritten Darksiders noch immer seine Maske aufhat oder nicht *3* Er hat sie ja im Quell zurückgelassen und wurde Dank der Siegel wiederbelebt xD

I agree with you - death in any form is never pretty and it'd reflect the more feral nature of Darksiders' portrayal to contrast War's occasional...stateliness? Like when he stabbed his sword in the floor to talk with Silitha. I'm also not seeing how Death could even have a nose with a bone mask like that. Nice job on the teeth and intense expression especially!

War really is the image of a stately man and warrior, but Death is something else entirely. His overall character and behaviour is a contrast to War's honourable personality. I was a bit disappointed when I saw this concept of unmasked Death in the artbook, where he was depicted with an ordinary face and only those weird tattoo-ish markings slapped on.
Now that you mention it, I always wondered about his nose, too. The mask is bent at the edges but it seems like there still isn't enough space for his nose to fit in. But he has one, as shown in the comic "Death's Door" if that counts as a reference.

Yes, you can see the outline of his face in the Horsemaster issue. It clearly shows his nose and actually the lips, too. But I still like to think they're missing. ID
It wouldn't be the first time that the game and other media such as the novel and comics are contradictory.
