Okay, is it weird that I'm generally more attracted to evil characters more than to goodie guys? Because I am, hahahah xDD Though Kuwa is a neutral one, if you take the story overall, so guess I can be forgiven ^^"
I really like this whole backstory thing, it seems like something that legit could happen. It's like a weird analogy of a typical chain of events when someone from a smallish town/village/whatever comes to a big city and basically shits themselves big-time xDDD Also can't help mentioning [probably yet again] that the fact that he can learn others' skills by drinking their blood is just awesome owo Add some alco to it and he'll be drunk and severely overpowered xD

With my own OCs (because we always view our own characters differently) I think I like both good guys and bad guys, possibly good guys more (only because they get more focus ;u; ) BUT when it comes to other characters, or canon characters, games, cartoons whatever, I ALWAYS like the bad guys the best!! >:3 With fandoms I almost never like the good guys/ protagonists, and am always rooting for the villains XDDDDD so, you are not alone there

Yeah Kuwa has that whole thing going.... he lived in a "bubble" in his youth and was allowed to think he was "special" ...then went out into the world and was like "w---waAAAAAAH????" when he met people stronger than him, got bitchslapped and got told "you aren't a god, sit down and shut the fuck up." xDDDDD Ah I'm glad you like the blood drinking/copying thing! It seems at odds with the rest of my world's rules/whatever because blood-drinking is not usually a part of any magical... thing. XDD but. I just rolled with it, LOL

This is very prerry! The pose looks so natural, yet complex. Plus you really excelled at coloring and shading! The clothes design of this character is also very georgous, especially the coat! Amazing job!

Yeah, mixed feelings about Kuwa is what you should have, honestly. It's different for me cause he's my character, but if Kuwa was someone else's character or a guy in an anime, I don't know how I'd feel about all the shit he pulled xP But I do like when evil guys get their comeuppance (holy crap, I actually spelt that right first try!) and Kuwa DID get his; he gets his ass kicked all the time by other Numbered Soldiers who are stronger than him, and Kuwa has to deal with being hated and the guilt of all the things he’s done. So I kind of… like him… I like characters that can be pitied, and at the later stage, he certainly has a pitiful existence.
Haha, you are in the same boat as Conran then. Heru decides that there would be no point in hating Kuwa, it would not change the past. But Conran is more vengeful, and thinks Kuwa deserves all the hatred and suffering in the world for what he did >X0 Kuwa’s realisation happened in a few stages, starting when he realised he was NOT the strongest guy ever and that people all over the world would NOT bow down to him XPPP He’s kind of a poor confused dumb idiot, really.
But he IS an evil asshole, so I am satisfied with you having a mixed reaction to him, it is fair :3 Thanks for reading!!!

I'm a little bit surprised, I never intend to portray Kuwa as a sympathetic character, so that's very interesting to hear that you actually feel sorry for him and/or like him O__O but that's so cool.. thanks for your feedback!! Yeah, Kuwa is generally considered a villian, but in a way he's a product of his environment, and because of the way in which he was brought up, he legitimately thought he was above other people and that he didn't have to show consideration for the suffering of others. Ah yes! He's very strong... he kind of did go into hiding, in a way, but - because he was really determined to continue fighting for good instead of just vanishing, he is still pretty active xD

How he was raised was quite interesting. I remember reading in history there were some cultures that did that, more for religion than for cult (though one could argue on that case ahaha...) The best thing is that he got out of it owo

Oh yeah, I was fascinated by that very idea; a child raised in a really messed up and deluded environment to see how he would turn out. I usually stay away from religious themes altogether, but this "cult" plotline is kinda the closest I got xD I'm glad you found it interesting ;__; --he did get out of it, but by then it was pretty much too late ^_^;

That's interesting. owo It's really neat when you think of a scenario like that, and character comes from it. I've had a couple myself. Quissis is an example of that. He came from the question, "What would happen if [a certain character] had chosen a different path?". So like an alternate timeline idea.

This is amazing that people think Kuwa is handsome, but he's one of my only male characters who was NOT designed to try to be pretty xD Maybe I just don't like his colours or something... or maybe I'm biased because I've drawn him a lot of times in the past (well before these pics) and they were all so awful and ugly that my memory is tainted X'D

The picture is great! This icy distant look of the character's eyes really creates the cold atmosphere! And you drew the pose really well, I like how he walks on this frozen ground and his steps look graceful and confident. Then I read that he was the villain, who considered himself a deity... yes, your picture of him gives the impression of that kind of a character exactly! I also like the design of the coat, it looks interesting and unusual with those slits on the shoulders. The staff looks cool too : - ) I remember your old picture of this character, but this portrait of him is even better! Well done!
The story of him realizing the truth about who he really was and his willingness to redeem his past deeds is very well-written! It was a great read! Thanks for sharing it! And his dangerous ability is very interesting too! I am surprised that his number is only 87 from 100, though, if he is that powerful. Or do these numbers represent something other than the mage's power level?

Yes!! I imagine this picture is from before Kuwa's "redemption" so he still has a very arrogant and cold look on his face. I'm so glad to hear the story was interesting and well written, that's wonderful!! I really enjoyed writing about him and I think I wrote most of it quickly in one sitting. I know you like villain characters who want to better themselves, so he slightly reminds me of you, haha. Oh yes! The slits in his coat shoulders are because... in my magic universe, ice users love and crave cold weather, so they usually wear light clothing. But I gave Kuwa a giant coat accidentally... so... I made it so he has holes in the fabric to cool him down.. xD
Ahh, the numbers given to them (87 for Kuwa) do not show a rank where 100 and 01 would be on opposite ends. Instead, the individual numbers have meaning, so he inherits the traits of the numbers "8" and "7" , it doesn't matter if the number is high or low. I... am planning to do another big journal to explain this... but the story is so silly that I am hesitant to share it.... but, I think I have to or no one will understand this story.. ^-^;

Yes, I like redeemed villains very much : - ) This is a very cool idea about the ice-magic users, by the way! It seems that even little details in your characters' designs mean something, even those splits. It is great!
