This is kindasortanotreally from a rather A/U RP between me and a bud of mine...he's supposed to be a mercenary currently housed on the ship of a space pirate(ahaha, you don't need to tell me how stupid that sounds. I'm 100% aware. xD )...but honestly I just wanted an excuse to draw Piccolo in something other than purple gi and burlap shoes. x) I'm not too crazy about that background, but I had to do something...I couldn't just leave it grey. >>;---

Hell, strangely random rps are awesome. Pic as a mercenary sounds like it's be fun- and he looks hot doing it, which never hurts. Muahha. Fun piece.

I haven't really run a Piccolo in ages... but I always loved it when I did ^^ He's a great char, but I've been neglecting the cannon kids for my own for years.

Well, that's probably a good thing. I feel like I've done little more than gank someone else's character and put them through everything under the sun when I should be doing what you've done and pay more attention to my own. It's like a habit I can't kick--I started rping him when I was about 13 and I've been hooked ever since. @_@ Piccolo is a drug, I swear.

Aw, there's nothing really wrong with it. It makes for damn fun stuff. I've been at this since I was 13 too ^^ A lot of the reason I don't play Pic actually is that the kids I focus with (Scythe's the big one) don't really get along with him > > Or just need diffrents settings entirely.

Sadly I only have a handful of original rp characters, none of them Namekian (or at least, not really). My little 15 year old mechanic girl almost made it into this picture, actually--Piccolo was supposed to be dragging her behind him but no matter how many times I drew her it looked awkward so I took her out altogether. See, I only really rp with one friend of mine and all of her characters are human and only vaguely related to the DBZ-verse at all so we end up doing a lot of stuff that only borrows characters from the Z-worldβnamely Piccolo and Gotenβand puts them in various situations with our own kiddos. -_^; .
I've wanted more and more lately to create my own Namekian character however, in large part due to looking at your art and seeing all the nifty characters and stories you have.

I kinda sorta had non-nameccians when I was a kid, but none were really developed- then I found DBZ and that was the end of the question. Course, through time some of the kids have stretched so far away from the source that the only things they've got to really tie them in fandom is their race, so I get the borrowing and mixing thing.
There's nothing wrong with AUs- I've known some fantastic Piccolos in the play I
ve done through the years, and my own Pic is just as diffrent as them. You change the char by the very nature of writing them. It's best just to keep them in-char. Now, this doesn't mean you don't make him a mercenary on a spaceship- it just means that you take into account the core personality of the man and use that to determine how they'd act if they'd been in said sittuations ^_~
