Very touching picture, especially 'cause we know how the future will be like. Bitter irony, that words, heh... The stars creates the mood - is it midnight or the moment just after the night falls, in poetical way "when the night is young"? (I'm saying because of the lighter blue at the bottom.) Ratigan looks so relaxed and the little Basil is cute young mouse.
I always had a thing for student/teacher relationships, so let me hug you for free fanservice.
