"Wooaaah, woooah!" Vitania urged, sitting deep in her seat as the young mare exploded. What had once been a beautiful run through a first level test, had now become more "airs above the ground".

"Good! You handled that well!" Zach remarked, watching from the ground. The woman only sighed though, getting back the trot so the horse would not think explosion = escape from work. However, once achieved, she brought her o the middle and stood her near the tall man.

"I don't understand, she's usually so level headed. Our work has fallen apart ever since I got back from maternity leave.." She shook her head sadly.

"What maternity leave? I remember you waddling all over this property, riding the horses!"

"You know what I mean. Not actively working with them."

"Well, the weather is changing. They're all feeling fresh, you have to remember that."

"That's not it though... it's different... it's been going on before that. We were on a better track when I was 7 months pregnant and could hardly move. Now.."

"Perhaps, your head is somewhere else." Zach raised a brow, placing a hand on the mares neck and petting her. It was clear to everyone, Vitania had been different lately. He glanced over his shoulder. Koby, Serafina, and their new friend Ana had been watching the lesson for their own benefit. Surely, they were listening too, so he spoke quietly. "You are more focused on other matters in your life."

Vitania chewed her lower lip, "Zach. You are my dearest friend. I have known you for over a decade... you are like family... I trust your word. You have never given me dishonesty... what am I to do in this situation?"

It was a lot to ask of someone, to give their insight into such a grey area. Zach fussed with Sol's long mane, then he looked up to the woman. He gave an apologetic smile. "I think everyone deserves a chance, or a few. I know what it is like... to not be near your child. Emily's mom had full custody of her for 8 years. I had to live my life pretending she did not exist, but her image was always there... I missed 8 years of valuable time with her. When the custody was given to me, it was nice that she was older, because the two of us could have conversations and connect that way. But... I still hate that I missed her as a baby. I hate that I missed even an ounce of time not knowing such a bright girl. I never got the experience of her as a baby, and I will never get those memories. It hurts.. so... I think it is perhaps unfair to deny such precious times. A bond between a father and daughter can be ever so strong..." He spoke from experience.

"What if she loves him more.. What if she loves the other woman more..."

"You are her true mother, at the end of the day. That will never happen. But either way, a child can never have enough love. Think of how happy she will be, when she is grown up... to have had so much love in her life.."

"I suppose... I was just so confident that I could do this on my own. I wanted to prove to myself that I was this strong, independent woman."

"You are! Sometimes, strength comes when you put anothers well being before your own. When you put your pride aside, and selflessly think of another life. To not let jealousy or pain rule your heart and your decisions... That is strong..."

"I absolutely hate it when you're right." Vitania smirked. "Thank you... I will listen to you. You have never done me wrong."

"Good! Now, since we've gotten the therapy session out of the way, let's see if we can get that working trot down!"
