At the head seems quite long for this genus. While there are more gracile specimens of Anteosaurus, as far as i know, the anteosaurus skulls with heavy pachyostosis are all deep and boxy

Ahh yes. This is one of the best skulls we have at the University of the Witwatersrand. Its one of the 'gracile' morphs that have variously been interpreted as a separate species (now considered unlikely) to A. magnificens, subadults, or evidence of sexul dimorphism. Regardless, it seems that these individuals had far less extreme pachyostosis than the rpbust morphs
