This would have to be a P-40F.  That version had a Rolls Royce engine in it.  Great picture!

Very cool artwork.  Did any USAAF Warhawks serve in England?  Could have sworn they all ended up in the Pacific, Asia, and the Med.

I was thinking the same thing. The p-40 got known so well becasue of the flying tigers and they fought before the US entered the war. They were basicly all freelance pilots from the US air Force that flew out of China. Then by the time the US went to war the P-40 was almost obsolite. Great artwork though. Very well done. This would have worked well using a P-51 they did several missions over europe. Along with several other fighters.

I think the main thing that made the P-40 poorly suited to combat in England was that most of the fighter combat happened at high altitudes, because that's where the bombers were. For whatever reason, in the other theaters of combat, most of the fighting happened closer to the ground, where the Warhawk's engine didn't suffer performance issues and her rugged construction allowed her to take at least as much punishment as she could dish out.
