someone explain to me what furries are....and if there is more than one kind, explain all of them....and are characters like sonic and tht bat chick considered furries? cause i always thought they were jus cartoons..
and are cat girls furries? or the ones with just ears n a tail?

In the simplest terms, it would mean animal characters, and anything that's an animal character would count, but when you use the word furries, I think more of the people that have a more particular affinity toward animal characters, and I personally would prefer not to include things like sonic, looney toons, star fox etc. in with the definition because those franchises weren't created with quite that level of interest in animal characters exclusively. Also, for the people who actually call themselves furries, it's common for that to mean they're big enough fans to dress up in suits and stuff.

oh okay, well i guess ill leave sonic,looney toons,etc. out of it. and i really wouldnt consider cat girl in anime (they jus hav ears n a tail) a furrie either. imma stick wit full furry body peoples n animal costume peoples as furries then.....thts kinda a creepy hobbie

I think the costume hobby might get a little overboard, but if someone's simply a fan of the art style, I don't consider that any more creepy than being a fan of any other kind of genre.
