And it is a problem with deviantart itself. When trying to log in in the browser version (like Firefox, safari, chrome, etc) deviantart says the password is incorrect. So yeah, I have tried multiple browsers so the problem lies with DA.
I can however log in with the iOS app version on my phone and iPad. But the problem is still present when I try to log in with safari on my mobile devices. So I have tried multiple platforms/devices too.

Maybe changing your DA account password on your
phone, and then logging in w/the new password on
your computer? :0

also yes, the staff is apparently working on fixing the issue with the quality, but for now everything looks rubbish unless we click on download... It has been like that for almost 2 months now

Didnβt see the rest if your comment. That darn app @_@ and yeah itβs on the phone/iPad app. You have to go to settings and then check that you want to allow it to upload in high quality. Should have had that at the submission page, not like app settings *facepalm* not that I think it makes a big difference.
I am generally frustrated over how much the quality deteriorates even in the desktop browser version. I really hope they will fix this. (As well as my logging in issue T_T) I donβt really like to make my deviations downloadable tbh. It should not be like that you have to make it downloadable to get at least decent quality.

I agree with you, we shouldn't have to download to see the nice resolution, plus people are lazy and just prefer to click and fave rather than click, read, download and fave... I really hope they will sort it out, they published a news last week about it and a few other related issue. Apparently it mostly affects larger images and the glitch happens when dA automatically reduces the size of the image for their preview. I wonder if, in the mean time, we should just save our file at a smaller scale with high quality and then post that small size image here, it might show up with a better quality than the ugly preview dA gives us. I might try this next time
