I find Crimson Helm to be one of the cooler bosses in the game. The backstory as to how it was formed is badass, the design is badass (including what lies underneath), and the role it plays in the game is badass.

so... what iS the crimson helm actually? a boar? a horse? a deformed centaur?

I think the crimson helm is some kind of bull centaur-creature with a snake/dragon head. But an angry flaming boar would be my second guess. Much like both bulls and boars, he it does this kind of charging attack, after all.
