And this is one of the main reasons why I've been gone from the Internet altogether for the last two months... I'm very proud of him...so without further ado may I present:Elias the Valley Strider. The entire piece is over 2 feet tall and is my most abitious piece to date.
This piece is currently on display as part of the indoor portion of the Troy Sculptures on the Square event. You can see Elias and many other works by a variety ofsculptors at the Troy Hayner Cultural Center from June 28 - August 23

Over two feet tall! Justin and I were wondering, but we were guessing about a foot. Holy crap! You have to enter him in HWD so I can play with him every week...I mean make sure the lighting is proper, etc.

He was really tough to handle as I was turning him this way and that while sewing his costuming on to his body...my shoulder was killing me for a while after I was done.

I know! I can't wait for Nordy! Also excited to see Owen Elf! He is coming to visit on the 28th for 6 days with his Mom and little bro.
The Wiz was a hefty piece, so I am sure this guy was a handful!

Yes, we do! I feel like it's been forever since last I saw you!
I'm working on Owen's jacket now which will take a while. Then I have to glue on his hair... I have to admit that I'm kind of dragging my feet on that last bit because I always worry about how it will go as it can really make or break the piece! Then all I'll have to do is glue his little hat on and then the photos. It'll be a bit yet, and though I've been purposely waiting to post any more pics of him here until he was completely done, I can post some of him as he right now for you if you'd like? By the way, I'm using some of the material you gave me to do his jacket- do you remember a sort of dark blue and black stretchy skirt? His recorder gave me some trouble and I actually had to redo the damned things twice, but I'm very happy with it as it is now.

I want you to take the time you need to feel good about the piece, so no pressure there. I think some pics would be cool, if that is ok with you. I would love to see the progress and I am sure my Step-Mom would too, but only whatever is good with you. Is that good with you? I feel like a broken record...maybe it is work...yes, it is definitely work. I wanna go home! At least I get an hour to draw in 15 minutes. That will be good, but still...ok, back to work. If that is good with you?

Work has had that effect on me lately. I was getting stir-crazy, for sure! Feel much better now that I am home and have the day tomorrow to paint. Pupils must help! He was kinda creepy last viewing! Yes, I remember the fabric! Excited to see what you have come up with so far!
