I really like this exosuit design definitely one of the better ones Iβve seen.Β

Thank you sir! Any specific aspect that you liked or is it in a general sense?

In a general sense but I appreciate that itβs more like proper power armor and not another Elysium style exosuit. Reminds me of the Mobile Infantry from the Starship Troopers book.Β

Thanks for sharing this with me. Yeah the skeletal exosuit style ala Elysium has become the "default" idea of what power armour is in the public consciousness. While absolutely functional in its design, the absolute lack of design variation in other intellectual properties has made it feel very stale.
Like in "Edge of Tomorrow" vs the book it was adapted from "All You Need is Kill". They had plenty of opportunity to go for a different powered armour design, but still opted for the exoskeleton style. I am sure they had a reason, but still disappointing nonetheless.

Kinda reminds me of how power armour was handled in Fallout 4.

Fallout 4 power armour was one source of inspiration for the internal frame of this armour design!

Awesome! I was kinda, eh, about it when I first saw it. But after playing with it for a while, it made more sense. It gave the power armour a lot more weight (in more ways than one) and made it more of a resource/weapon in it's own right, rather than just a suit you put on and take off.

It really added to the gameplay in the end. The only thing iffy about it is that it made a lot of the weapons look hilariously small, although I guess that can't really be helped.Β
Still running around with a gatling laser/ minigun never gets old!Β Β

Like wearing a giant suit of XO-1, but holding a tiny little pistol. (Looking at you, Deliverer) The disparity is absurd and hilarious. For me, I like the pain train perk where I can literally just ram into people and steamroll them, then proceed to point blank them with a missile launcher and walk away totally fine.

Pain Train power armour sounds like absolute fun.
If only Fallout 4 had fully destructible terrain/buildings!
Live the dream to its fullest by running through a wall, then ramming a bunch of dudes before hitting them with a missile launcher!

Not just people, but the max rank lets you bowl over larger enemies like deathclaws. So, that's a thing.
I think it was supposed to have something like that, because it's there in a few specific places that have wooden bit that can be blown off with explosives.

Think you could do something like this for the way Space Marine Power Armor from Warhammer 40k is put together? Or do Space Marines not use support frames for their armor?Β

Perhaps, I have thought about it a bunch while considering your comment and I might just include those ideas my own armour design.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe that support frames should be in most types of "traditional" power armour, or in this case Astartes Power Armour.
I am no engineer, but to make the armour feel like a "second skin", it seems important to remove a lot/ all the weight strain from the person using the armour. But whether or not this is true when the suit is 'unpowered' is another topic of discussion.
To be honest, the current design of power armour in 40k doesn't lend itself to visually indicating/hinting at all that fancy technology mentioned in the lore.
You have stuff like electric fiber bundles, grey body suit interfaces*, integrated life support, strength amplification systems, etc. This stuff isn't immediately apparent in the visuals of space marine armour, it leaves a lot of it to the imagination, which is part of the reason why its so fun to talk about this stuff.
*An assumption based on a line mentioned in Dark Imperium, when Guilliman was donning his 'Armour of Fate'.
In the "meta" sense, the design of space marine power armour design feels like it is more a product of visual consistency between old and new lore and ease of sculpting/miniature production.
Sidenote, I think the new Reiver armour does a better job of "showcasing the tech" in miniature form, specifically the abdominal area which looks like a weave of fibre bundles that the lore mentions so often.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
tl;dr I might do my own design of armour, but it will use a lot of ideas I encountered while thinking about your comment

I imagine that some Inquisitors that use power armor may use a similar design layout as this suit does for theirs. Where to compensate for their lack of gene-seed implants, they use a mechanical exoskeleton to hold the armor onto their person.Β
