Heh. Which just proves Ninjago and LU simply can't fully co-exist. If the Legoverse can't work with both of them, then who can?

I think it perfectly could if the ninja (and Nya) were not the in Monastery, but other than that, I think they are perfectly compatible.

Hmm, yeah. Or if Garmadon wasn't leading the skeletons (it'd be a bit awkward after all this seasons, but not undoable). But that's the point. Even if it's something small, we can't avoid divergence from one of the official canons.

I on the other hand set the LU events after Season 2. Originally, it made sense, but in the end after all the many seasons that came out I decided I wouldn't try to fit everything together anymore. I thought of that story when there were two seasons only and to those it is faithful, but anything later on may or may not be true. It's not necessarily non-canon, but there are certainly parts that would contradict my ideas. These stories are not written, though. Still just in my head.

Yeah, the idea is that Garmadon was freed by the Overlord's control, but he wasn't truly rid of the Great Devourer's curse, so eventually he succumbed to the darkness again, upon which time he brought the Skulkin together again and struck a deal with the Darkitect, as in the meantime the Maelstrom appeared.
