Description Mineral(s): Annabergite
Locality: Km-3 Mine, Lavrion (Laurion; Laurium), Attikí Prefecture, Greece

Intensely green bladed groups of annabergite crystals growing all over a cavity. Annabergite is a nickel arsenate mineral. Specimen obtained from Anastasios Tsinidis, who collected a lot of notable Greek minerals from his collecting trips .

Annabergite forms a solid solution series with erythrite (i.e. structurally similar, but with a notable chemical difference). For annabergite, the defining characteristic is its nickel content, which colors this mineral shades of green. Annabergite is commonly referred to as the "nickel bloom" mineral.
