Guts, the Black Swordsman
Vs
Clare, the Claymore
But put them together in a battle to the death... who will be victorious?
Battle of the Giant Sword Wielders!
Guts- the Protagonist of the Berserk series. The story of Guts is not exactly sunshine’s and rainbows, in fact its soaked in blood and violent since the day of his birth. In the realm of Midland after a brutal massacre, Guts was born from the corpse of his mother… who had been hanged from a tree. Guts was discovered by a traveling band of mercenaries and was adopted by the band’s whore Shisu. Unfortunately, three years later, Shisu died of the plague. Guts was then mentored by the mercenary leader and adoptive father Gambino, who began training him in swordsmanship when he was just 6 years old. Despite the struggle and hardship, Guts was a determined student of war and by the age of 9 he was soon brought on to the battlefield and killed his first man. Despite his progress, Guts was constantly abused in many ways that I really don’t want to get into. After killing Gambino in self-defense, Guts fled the camp and became a lone mercenary. Recognized for his skill, he was recruited by a mercenary group called the Band of the Hawk. Lead by an ambitious man and soon to be rival/friend by the name of Griffith. After losing to a dual with Griffith, Guts was recruited into the band of the Hawk. At first not being too fond of this change but as time went on the Hawk’s became Gut’s first real close friends, and for the first time in his life he had a family he would die for as well as the other members as well. Over the next three years, the Hawks single-handedly ended a one-hundred-year war. Sadly however, it turned out that Griffith was chosen to be a demonic messiah. His “ascension” to this role transformed into a demon and summoned a horde of demons which killed everyone Guts was ever close too. If watching all his friends getting slaughtered wasn’t enough, Griffith claimed ownership of Guts' soul by branding his neck then raped Guts' love Casca in the pool of his friends' blood as he watched, pinned down with his eye gouged out and forced to cut off his own arm. Guts and Casca escaped by the demonic Skull Knight and after recovering Guts dedicated his entire life to murdering Griffith as painfully and brutally as possible... while fighting demons on a daily basis as they are drawn to his brand like moth to a flame. His hunt over the years has given him the name “The Black Swordsmen”. In order to achieve his goal, he needs the right equipment to get the job done; He carries an arsenal belt of throwing knifes and a pouch of mini bombs. He also has a new mechanical hand, which can act as a flamethrower, repeater crossbow, and a hidden single shot cannon. However, Guts main weapon and most powerful tool of all is the giant blade known as Dragonslayer. It is a massive, sick, heavy, and rough, too big to be called a sword! This blade was forged by the legendary hermit Godo, the Dragonslayer was made to, as dumb as it sounds, to slay dragons. This blade is 6 ½ feet long and weighs over 400 pounds, he can swing this monster like a plastic t-ball bat. With a single swing, Guts can cleave through a man wearing heavy armor... along with his weapon, his horse, and any other people, animals, or demons that happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. After killing over thousands of demons it resides in both the physical and astral planes of existence... somehow. In short it means it is capable of harming any supernatural force. Guts also has a set of armor known as the Berserker Armor; this Armor seals off the wearer's nervous system making him immune to pain and its natural inhibitions. This allows Guts to fight to his full potential, boosting his power and speed at the risk of damaging his own body. This armor makes Guts so powerful that his swings will shatter the bones in his arm. Even though he can’t feel it the armor doesn’t heal his wounds and shattered bones but just holds him together. Guts is an absolute monster in combat, the Achilles of the army. He can move faster than the eye can track, killed one hundred soldiers on his own in a single night, and once jumped into the mouth of a giant sea god, cut his way through it and killed it within, and can fight for days without tiring even with fatal injuries…. Oh yeah and, he’s human. Guts will risk himself or do absolutely anything to defeat his foes, like jumping into fire or allowing himself to be impaled just to gain an advantage and just survives through sheer willpower. He's fallen hundreds of feet, gotten stabbed through the face, taken one thousand supernatural punches at once, and even been run over by a monster moth that moves at supersonic speeds. As a master of badassery as Guts is, he disregards for his own safety, relying on just sheer dumb luck and unstoppable willpower. The armor does not actually heal Guts; it just holds him together. Which is dangerous because even though Guts won't feel pain, that doesn't make him invincible. Plus, the berserker armor forces Guts to give in to his inner demons and lose all sense of morality and restraint, making him the most violent and uncontrollable demon-killer ever. But trust me when I say this, the last thing you want to do is get in this guy's way… especially on his bad side…
" My sword has gotten very dull. However, it's three times as thick and does three times the damage of a normal sword. You'd better pray you die quickly or this could be painful”

Clare- the protagonist of Claymore. In a medieval world where humans are plagued by humanoid shape-shifting demons called Yoma. To fight this threat mysterious mercenary group was formed, simply known as The Organization. The Organization creates human-Yoma hybrids to kill Yoma for a fee, and all their warriors are female. These female warriors wear armored uniforms and carried large claymore swords as their main weapon for the Yoma slaying job. The public refer’s to them as "Claymores," or "Silver-eyed Witches," due to their silver eyes. The tale of Clare begins when Clare's parents were killed by a Yoma impersonating her brother. When the Yoma attempted to rape Clare, an unnamed Claymore killed the Yoma. However, another Yoma captured Clare, forcing her to travel with him as a cover and toy with scars on her body indicated abusive behavior. Due to her suffering, Clare shut down emotionally and she became mute. Clare being held by a group of seven Yoma, the Organizations number one Claymore Teresa arrives and kills all seven. When Clare sees Teresa, she sees the same pain in Teresa's eyes as she herself has endured. Empathizing with Teresa, she tries embracing her, despite Teresa's rejections. After traveling with Teresa, the two began to bond and Clare started to speak again. Teresa dropped Clare off hoping she had found a new home and departed, but not too long did she realized that the town was being raided and attacked by bandits. Teresa arrives in time to see Clare unconscious and as a result of the bandits cruel nature Teresa kills every single one of them and saves the town and Clare. Teresa takes Clare in but since Teresa is a Claymore she’s only supposed to kill Yoma and since killed more than one human The Organization has marked her for death for going against the Claymore code. While in hiding The Organization their top Claymore’s to kill Teresa; Priscilla who is a new recruit but gifted, Irene, Noel and Sophia. Teresa fights them off and beats them easily, without even using any of her Yoma powers. Priscilla instead of falling back goes after Teresa due to being mixed in her own personal tragedy with Teresa being a felon. Teresa and Priscilla fight and as the fight goes on Priscilla releases more and more yoki in an effort to beat Teresa. Because Priscilla is young and inexperienced, she unintentionally passes the point where she can’t revert back to normal and asks Teresa to kill her. Teresa lowers her guard and agrees to kill Priscilla to prevent her from fully awakening, but as Teresa readies the killing blow Priscilla slices Teresa’s arms off and beheads her. After transforming into an awaken being and kills the remaining Claymores, Priscilla leaves and Clare is left alive surrounded by bodies and blood. Devastated over Teresa’s death, Clare takes Teresa's head and searches and finds a member of the Organization where they take her in and at her request put Teresa's flesh and blood in her. The experiment was a success and Clare trained to become a Claymore to avenge Teresa. She is the only known Claymore to have taken the flesh and blood of a fellow Claymore rather than of a Yoma, making her ¼ Yoma instead ½ human like the other warriors. Although the experiment worked, it was considered a failure as she was considered weak and was given the last rank of No. 47 in the 150th generation. Despite being the lowest ranked warrior, Clare abilities will grow exponentially and soon become a legend and become one of the most powerful Claymore to ever walk the land. Being a Claymore, Clare is naturally faster, stronger, and tougher than an average human. Clare can sense the presence of monsters thanks to their emission of Yoki, an energy that all Yoma-related monsters create. As a Claymore, her Yoki powers strengthening her attacks, enhancing her running speed, reflexes beyond a human level, and also possess a healing factor, healing entire wounds and even reattaching limbs by concentrating her energy, patching up within minutes. From inheriting Teresa's flesh and blood, Clare has the ability to read and manipulate the flow of Yoki in her opponents and predict their movement before they happen. This ability has helped Clare to easily slay Yoma and battle Awakened Beings. She can take fatal wounds to gain a winning advantage and can still fight. Claymores can fight for weeks, even months without eating. She can even use her Yoki to alter her vocal cords, giving her the ability to impersonate a male voice and other types of voices. Clare wields a set of throwing and 1.5ft long twin daggers made of the same metal as her sword. Her Claymore sword is her primary weapon, the sword that’s about her height (5’7) appears to be indestructible as she has wielded it for seven years and has not dulled, chipped, been broken, or even rusted. With this blade’s durability, combined with Clare’s unnatural strength she can carve through wood, solid stone, and even heavily-armored Awakened Beings. After losing an arm, a former Claymore that survived Priscilla’s attack Clare was given the arm of Irene to master her art of the Quicksword; By releasing all yoki into her sword arm and controlling the berserking arm through sheer will, Clare attacks are so fast the slashes are invisible to the naked eye, swinging the blade hundreds of times in the span of a second. The Quicksword is just as powerful as Irene’s but the time usage is shorten. Windcutter is the same thing as the Quicksword but not as fast and boosts her accuracy and uses less Yoki. Clare later on combined the speed and strength of Quicksword with accuracy and less strain of Windcutter, giving her the title, “Fastest Sword of All Claymores”. By absorbing the memories of the Claymore Rafaela, Clare creates very faint aura of Yoki so she can detect attacks and enemies allowing for faster reaction times and more precise reactions to attacks. Even though the Claymore abilities have their perks, if you accept too much Yoki at once you’ll be constantly battling to maintain control of yourself and if pushed too far past your limit you’ll transform into what’s called Awaken Beings. However, Clare has found a way to awaken only parts of her limbs instead of her whole body. During the battle of Rigardo, Clare unlocked the Awaken Limbs; where her legs become hock-jointed, her left arm becomes a giant claw, which awakens further into blades sprouting out of scaly muscular limbs, and her right arm sprouts several blades. In this state Clare can move at lightning speeds but has a problem with turning and stopping. But Clare’s ultimate form was revealed when she engaged in another duel with Priscilla; the Teresa Incarnation. Clare becomes the incarnation of Teresa, whom the Organization dubbed as the strongest claymore ever to be recruited. She can fight such horrific creatures like Priscilla, who has regenerative abilities that make Deadpool and Wolverine jealous and has killed hundreds of powerful Claymore and monsters without effort, not using any Yoki. Just by releasing a fraction of Yoki, enough to turn her eyes from silver to catlike-yellow, was enough to put Teresa on equal fighting grounds with Priscilla (Jesus… just imagine how powerful Teresa would be if she was turned into an awaken being…..). Despite the powers and the god-like transformations, she does have her faults. To start she is mainly an offensive fighter, while her fighting skills are incredibly her healing and defensive abilities need work. Clare can patch up wounds and reattach her limbs, but she cannot heal them swiftly or regrow limbs. Reattaching limbs takes more time and concentration. Also like Guts, Clare is pretty headstrong and reckless and cares little of her own well-being. Also for Claymores, they were armor but not enough to cover their entire bodies, they mainly have plating on the shoulders, waist area, and below the knees and down. Also when her close friend Jean died, she has a mental block which will revert to her back to her Claymore state if she ever tries to fully awaken…though this might actually be a good thing. Clare’s feats make up for her weaknesses as she survived the Northern Siege, which annihilated all but seven Claymores (including herself), and killed several high-up Claymores and Awakened Beings like the crazed No. 4 Ophelia in her Awakened Being state and Rigardo the infamously powerful Awakened Being. Clare is deadly just as she is beautiful.
“No. 47 in the Organization, Clare, successor of Teresa's flesh and blood, bearer of Irene's right arm, and the one who carries Ophelia's hopes and soul to hunt the Awakened Being Priscilla.”
