Hmmm... I think that my head must be in a different gutter... I looked at this and saw something purely botanical, some thorny and hard shelled flower that uses burrs for seed distribution in an entirely different kind of strip tease, the flower being the polyamorous whore of the plant world as opposed to your analogy to the human Red Light District.

Funny!! My cousin and I were about 14 yrs. old when we were left for a week at the state fair to show hogs while my uncle went to another show. It was the early 60's when pasties were still the norm.

Can't think what you're talking about But yeah, those were the days: individual artistry before the whole scene was homogenised. Reminiscence apart, it's a cool image - reminds me more of the rubbery spikes so favoured by the cyberkids of the fin de siecle dance scene.
