Description Decided to upload some older art again.
Nowadays there are actually quite a few pictures of Noishe on the internet, but still.

February 20th, 2005
Pen and ink

A nice picture showing Lloyd Irving, the hero of Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube, riding his giant pet dog Noishe. Noishe was somewhat useless in battle, mainly because he tended to run off at the first sight of an enemy, but boy was he fast! Riding around on his back was fun. I browsed the internet for pictures of the doggie, but I never found any. That is basically why I drew this.

Well, thanks! I'm not sure if it's really that great (considering that it's old), but I'm glad you like it.

*must contain myself*
I am a HUGE TOS fan and Lloyd is one of my favorite characters of all time. I'm kind of sad how they chopped out Noishe's role in the anime version. Even though he wasn't very important he was a fun character. And I always thought that Noishe was one of those hints at Kratos' true identity. Anyway, GREAT picture, I love Noishe's face I just want to hug 'im. ^_^

In the GC version, I ALWAYS played Lloyd. Always. I was never one of the other characters, because I just didn't like the way they played. They were plenty strong and smart when the computer played them anyway, so I just let it play them.

Lloyd, however. He was just awesome. Strong, fast and super cool moves to boot. In the hands of a skilled player, he could take down an army! All he needed was Raine for a little back up healing and the other two slots went to whoever else I felt like seeing in action.

Anyway... What were we saying again? Oh yes, we all love Lloyd. I thought he had a great personality too. Loved his sense of humor.

And his bond with Noishe was just too cute. I never really saw the anime version. I wonder what that was like.

Glad you like the picture, even though it's an old one. I just figured Noishe deserved a little bit more love. He so cute with his big bunny ears.

I am rambling again, aren't I? Sorry, when it comes to ToS, I just have a lot of good memories.

I really wish that winged Lloyd had also been available in the actual game itself. Now we only got to see him in the cutscenes. XD

But then again. I think those wings would really get in the way whenever Lloyd tries to do the 'Hyper Cutter' move. That was one of my favourite moves. I actually managed to land one, the very first time I had to fight the final boss. You know, where Kratos betrays the group and takes Collette, and the boss slams Lloyd into a pillar.

That guy was seriously overpowered and could kill everybody with just one hit. But I actually managed to land a 'Super Cutter' (the weaker version) before he got me. It wacked him four or five times on the head. I figure that's why he got so mad at me. Go me!

I also really liked the 'Rising Falcon'. A great way to get behind an enemy. XD

I liked the "Rising Beast" move I think.
Sometimes I also played Genis but he was a little slow. Sheena was fun too but her moves were generally weaker.

Rising Beast? Was that a combination attack? I remember that some characters could combine their attacks to do more damage.

Lloyd's Hyper Cutter + Raine's Photon Blast (or whatever it's called) = Photon Cutter

Lloyd's Rising Falcon + ??? (I forgot) = Rising Phoenix

Etc.

I could also play Kratos and Zelos if I really had to, but I really preferred Lloyd.

It was one of Lloyd's moves when he was higher levels. I could never get the combo moves to work for me. D: I never fully figured out that feature.

Hmmm... I guess I probably forgot which move that was again.

The succes of a combo move usually depended on timing. The two characters have to execute two compatible at exactly the same time.

I once saw Kratos and Lloyd combine moves. Kratos came up close and pummeled the opponents, while Lloyd went crazy on the Demon Fangs. XD

It was cool. I didn't do that combo on purpose, so I have no idea which move Kratos used for that one.

Lloyd! I know Lloyd! He's a character in Tales of the World on PSP as well! I like that game . . .

There is a mission where you can fight Lloyd, and he's such a cheater! You recoil when he hits you, but he doesn't recoil when you hit him. I wail on him and wail on him but he doesn't die. Then I look at our levels outside of battle. He's like Lv. 20 and I'm Lv. 49. Something ain't right . . .

So yeah, don't want to take any of the missions where I fight my friends no more. They cheat!

That aside, Lloyd's pretty cool.

So he's not the main character anymore? Does he still fight with two swords? And does the PSP version take place before or after the GC version?

And does he still have wings?

Vye-Brante In reply to Blue-Uncia [2008-08-12 07:31:36 +0000 UTC]

Wings? No, not that I've noticed. Two swords, yup. Glowy swords even. As for the timeline, I'm not sure. He hasn't made reference to anything in his past that I can remember. He hasn't even mentioned this dog thing. I think it may just be they used thet same name and character design.

They used characters from their other games too. Only two of them seem to make reference to their pasts and imply that they are the same characters. I'm not sure about Lloyd.

Blue-Uncia In reply to Vye-Brante [2008-08-12 08:04:34 +0000 UTC]

Maybe that will still come. His swords, is one red and the other blue? Those were his final weapons in ToS for the GC. No Noishe? That guy wouldn't leave home without his dog!

Vye-Brante In reply to Blue-Uncia [2008-08-13 19:11:15 +0000 UTC]

I think they were red and blue, yeah. Been a while since I've played and had him on my team.

Seems like your game takes place after the GC version then. Which is weird, because there is NO way Lloyd could have beaten the final boss at level 20. XD

Vye-Brante In reply to Blue-Uncia [2008-08-13 22:48:20 +0000 UTC]

Heh, yeah. Well, he might not be the exact same guy. Just a look alike. Or he got lazy and his levels went down. Heh.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Blue-Uncia In reply to Vye-Brante [2008-08-14 07:49:48 +0000 UTC]

I wonder if that is even possible... Hmmm... Maybe, I dunno. He always was the lazy type at school, but not physically.

Vye-Brante In reply to Blue-Uncia [2008-08-15 07:33:11 +0000 UTC]

Seems like it SHOULD be possible that levels go down. Makes sense that if they don't keep practicing and active that they'd get rusty and whatnot. It would be annoying if they actually programed that sort of thing into video games though.

Blue-Uncia In reply to Vye-Brante [2008-08-15 09:20:15 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've been wondering about that stuff too. Though I'm glad it doesn't actually happen in the games. Especially in PokΓ©mon. I have about 60 level 100's on my Firered, keeping them in shape would be a nightmare.

But if you've read Sandy's cast info, you may already know that her PokΓ©mon are actually a little rusty and out of shape (some more than others *sideways glance at Quartz*). Their levels didn't drop, but they do seem affected. XD

Yeah, we're all lucky they didn't go into it that much.

I've read Sandy's thing before . . . but can't remember that. I'm going to have to go look right now!
