A cute little sketch of a blue Mew, in my own style. So that means it's extra furry! This
picture was requested by floralauraheart. I love doing sketches. They only take me about
15-20 minutes to make.

well, the season 1 intro showed one just like it flying by the screen. i started rewatching the first season, and I noticed at bill's lighthouse that mewtwo is on the door. However, mewtwo was created AFTER Ash had Charizard. So it brings up the question, how did Bill get a picture of mewtwo when mewtwo either hasn't been created yet or hasn't been seen? (training from giovanni to make sure he's worthy?) who knows?

Heh, yeah I noticed that Mewtwo on Bill's door too. Personally, I attribute that to a mistake made by the animators, on account of poor planning. They wanted to fit all sorts of rare, powerful and cool PokΓ©mon on this guy's door, to make him seem all the more mysterious. Obviously, Mewtwo fits the bill quite nicely, so he got plastered on as well.
I just don't think they planned the whole 'how does the movie slot into the series' -thing very well. XD

well, if mewtwo was on Bill's door that early in the series, that must've meant that ash had already met mewtwo. I really don't remember when the movie came out, in relation to the series. but if ash had a charizard in the movie, why didn't he use it. I don't recall seeing charizard or charmander in the movie though. lol I'd have to check.

Try not to read too much into it. Personally, I think it was just a mistake made by the animators. Or maybe it was just a joke to confuse watchers.
The first movie happened AFTER Ash got Charizard. In fact, he also didn't have Butterfree any more.

I'm gonna guess it was a sort of easter egg they put in the episode. Since the movie was probably in production at that time, they knew that by the time they finished, Ash would have Charizard. lol btw, what exactly happened with Charmander's attitude when it evolved into Charmelion? Charmander loved Ash, then it suddenly hated him. I wouldn't think an evolution would change them that much. Ash's turtwig didn't realise that it was too heavy and slow until it was too late, but it's attitude never changed.

I don't know what was up with that Charmeleon. The only thing I can think of is that it may have had something to do with the fact that it used to belong to a different trainer. If a PokΓ©mon like that gets too strong, it may become difficult to control. It would also explain why he got so strong so fast (boosted exp).
Maybe it was something psychological too. As Charmander he was dumped by his original trainer because he was weak. When he got stronger and evolved, he may have thought that Ash only liked him for his strength (or maybe he didn't appreciate being used so intensively against those Exeggutors). Maybe that's why he decided to be an ass.

lol that's a pretty good summary. XD It might have been that he was too high of a level, like when they don't obey you in battles (turning away, taking naps, loathing around, etc.), and maybe he didn't see ash as a worthy trainer because of that. or maybe he just became more aggressive and didn't obey him because ash was too whimpy and he didn't seem like the leader type who doesn't just walk into things without thinking. lol I do remember the huge group (herd?) of exxecutor. what would you call a group of walking plants? lol

lol possessed? That reminds me of that haunted forest where they introduced hoot hoot. lol the haunters ghastly, and Gengar making faces in the trees. so epic.

Ah yes, that episode. I actually thought it was a little dull, but still. Foresight is a pretty cool move. I really would only use it on Machop, though. That way it could attack ghosts.
Hoothoot doesn't need that move, as is has psychic and flying moves.

yeah, and can turn his head around in 360 degrees. lol well, maybe not that. Don't you find it wierd that an owl with one foot can become an owl with two feet and have an even cooler and more efficient evolution? I think noctowl as ash's first shiny pokemon. noting that it's wings were a lot brighter than the noctowls from the games. and why does he keep starting fresh when he goes to a new region. It kindof shows that he will always have problems when he starts out, and people might think he's weak.

Actually, Hoothoot has two feet. It just pulls one up under its downy belly. If you play Stadium 2 and see a Hoothoot there, you'll actually see it hopping and switching its feet.
I'm pretty sure that Noctowl doesn't have an evolution, though. I could certainly use one, but it doesn't actually have one.
And I think the animators make Ash ditch his old PokΓ©mon at the start of a new region, so that he may get a team of new generation PokΓ©mon. It's probably for publicity purposes. XD

really? awesome. in the anime, they never showed it. ever. Noctowl doesn't have one, but murkrow has one, and it isn't pretty either. lol
I'm gonna guess they did it for the new games. Aipom came cause it has an evolution in that region now. Hideous too. I rarely see an evolution from the original 150 anymore. except for the electrobuss, magmar, chansey's evolution, and togekiss. sheesh. They really know how to change when a pokemon can or can't evolve.
catch a yanma in joto and it never evolves. catch one in sinnoe, and it evolves. Do they ever migrate?

Yanma's evolution is actually pretty awesome. It looks good AND it has nice stats and moves. I don't know why it would evolve in Shinnoh, but not in Johto. I mean, the catalyst is simply knowing the move Ancient Power. Well, Yanma could learn that in the 2nd gen too, so...
Speaking of 2nd gen, did you know that there may possibly be a remake of Gold and Silver in the making? They'll be on the DS of course.
I loved the original Gold and Silver, except for its design flaw which caused the loss of my 200 PokΓ©mon. Officially I'm against buying remakes (why can't they just make something new?), but I really miss Johto and I can't play my Silver game any more... so... I just might get the remake.
(Silver was a really expensive game too, sheesh...)

yeah, my brother told me about it. They can't come up with new ideas? I bet they put in the new evolutions for the 2nd generation pokemon, like for Yanma and togepi. getting silver again? try ebay, or buy from a friend, var did the latter. lol and it's in english too. lol the game is only better if you undesrtand what's being said. if It's in japanese, that's just annoying. lol

No, I don't want the original Gold or Silver games. Heck, if I wanted to I could invest a few hours in recharging the battery of my old game. (Heck I could even open it and replace the battery.) That would make it playable again, but I don't want to play a game that might crash like that if I don't keep playing it.
I'd much rather have an expensive remake, that is actually safe to play. (Call me an idiot, but that's the way it is.)

That's because there aren't a lot of known details yet. Right now, all we know is:
- It's a remake of Gold and Silver, called Heart Gold and Soul Silver
- It'll be on the DS
- The logos are known
- There are a few screenshots on Serebii, showing a Chikorita following the player around
Any more news will be on Serebii.net, I'm sure of it. We'll just have to keep an eye on that site.
