Description
Acrylic on bone.

I keep forgetting to post this ;-;
Another bone painting, this time a mountain lion on a dun dun dun mountain lion scapula blade.  I'm quite happy with how the lighting turned out, but I still have a terrible time getting decent pictures of traditional works, even when I'm not in a rush to get pictures.  I either lose color or detail, or both.  The posted picture is in full sunlight to kill the gloss glare, so the colors are a bit more gold than they are in person.

orig02.deviantart.net/2d89/f/2… -a picture of it in shade, that the colors are more true to life in, but the gloss glare kills the picture and lighting effect.

Needless to say I'm still very happy with how it turned out.  I think I improve a bit on depth, lighting, and texture with each bit of practice I get doing these, and that's the kind of work I want to do haha I really fought with big cat anatomy here, and had to reference the head over and over, then it somehow got away from me anyway.  It's been a long time since I've done a big cat so it was fun.  Used stock references for background and multiple references on cat.

Senseless to say what should be understood, but art belongs to me, and is not to be used for any reason.
Thanks!

HOW do you make those colors glow? It is like this magic that you have. It looks like it is filled with light AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT. augh.

Thanks gramps! Just use really vivid colors over not so vivid ones haha  And the magic is just how acrylic blends in washes, it makes it look more magical than it is in practice.  You should check out Terry Isaac if you want to see real magic glowing in acrylics, I turn to plastic in its presence!  His acrylic work is insane, I hope I'm half that good some day!

Agreed with Marz, your traditional works such as these and your jewelry looks like something from a professional crafts market (and much better than the boring monogrammed shit you see white blonde people make ^~^).

DAMN that's wicked shit you even own a puma scapula! I love how you always make such killer art projects out of them...and I'm over here all kinda freaked out by them haha. Seriously though, your paintings are always *Nigel Thornberry voice* smashing! If I kill any big game this year I will totally have to make my Dad's ass allow me to dissect their bodies and harvest their bones so I can send you some scapulas haha.

Thanks homegurl!  Died at your monogrammed comment, but I don't think I've ever seen anything monogrammed at a craft fair up here hahha But then again I usually don't go to those home/garden "I knitted you this sweater" type of craft fairs. But I bet next time I go, because you said this, I'll find something monogrammed haha
Hahha yea I had a few, but this one was one my friend cleaned so I painted on it for him in trade for a silver fox pelt.  But mountain lions are normally hunted here in winter, so there's a chance to get parts and skulls, but most people are too lazy to keep the bones or clean them, or they keep the skulls and throw everything else out.  But my friend tries to use as much of the mountain lion as possible, so he gets some real cool ass bones you don't usually see from them.
PS I'm glad my paintings are Nigel Thornberry quality! That means htey are pretty  hard core ^~^ hahaha
And YES...or just get to dissect them in general! ^^  I remember the first time I saw your bore skull and I'm like HELLA AWESOME-it's a pretty bad ass looking skull.  And probably more so because we ain't got them here.

The monogrammed shit is atrocious- see a white girl and you can instantly tell what they're selling haha. LMAO "I knitted you this sweater craft fair" 💛

our fairs are really mixed with what they have, but still pretty metal.
Damn that awesome as fuck y'all getting to hunt pumas! and lame you don't have razorbacks. My ass should be out in the woods soon so maybe I can get you a boar skull one day!

This looks really great. Reminds me of something I would see for sale at a craft fair.

Thanks! My current paint style definitely has a craft fair look to it, especially when I paint on all sorts of weird things.  I really should do a bunch of these and try to actually sell them at a craft fair.

Awesome! How big is the scapula? With bone painting I love it when the animal matches the bone it's from. And I also understand how hard it is to take photos of traditional art...

Thanks =]  The scapula was from a female mountain lion, and was almost 6 inches long along the bottom length.
