Thanks nigra! I had known people carved and burned leather, so I always wanted to give it a try, but never made time. So I'm glad you like how it turned out, it's definitely a medium I'd like to work in more often. I wanted to burn on a rabbit skin, but I think the chemicals used in tannign would make some hella nasty smoke burning.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THE DETAIL IN THIS! It is so small and so detailed! She is going to LOVE this! and I adore the paw prints, so magnificent!

Most of it is pointillistic in style, more than actual detail. The way the tip burns it creates more thick shading and detail than you actually put in. I was still happy with how it came out for a first on leather. It's a lot harder to burn than I thought because it's super easy to overburn in no time flat. But she liked it!
