This is cool. It's so hard to get a good birds eye composition down. You did a really nice job with it.

This is acrylic? You're outstanding!
And I mean it, OUT STANDING. I capitalize it like that because I've -never- seen someone handle paint like you do - and you stand out!
It's so out of the norm to see that much detail in such a normal setting. Living in Chicago, its natural beauty is not something that I take enough time to appreciate. You bring out the art in such simple things..like the smooth curve of the street lights and the faded paint on the asphalt. You really rock for that!
Star-quality work, I wouldn't be surprised if you make it really big someday.
-Kay!

the perspective in this piece is quite interesting, as is a nice but not overwhelming amount of detail. a very appealing painting overall.

Thank you!
I paint a lot of street scenes, it was nice to find a new angle...

Thank you very much!
I think acrylics can be handled very differently and yet successfully. It took me a long time to feel out acrylics and discover how best to apply them to create the effect I want...and I know others use acrylics differently than I do. If you are interested in persuing acrylics, I would encourage you to do so and not worry if your technique is exactly the same as another artist's. Eventually you'll find your own way to use them.

Beware "pecking" or "fiddling" as I call it. Almost a sure fire way of turning a decent piece into a total clusterfuck in mere seconds.
That bus really is awesome. The perspectives look great on the signposts.

Ah yes, I have "pecked" my way into a disaster before. I feel I've gotten better at knowing when to quit though.

You are entirely too hard on yourself. This is a beautiful, eyecatching piece that lends a new perspective to the average street corner. I love how everything feels like it's in motion, and you can almost catch yourself wondering where the various people are off to.... who's riding in that bus? etc. Lovely work m'dear.

Thank you!
It is hard to calculate how much time this took me since I did this in several short sessions over a period of a month and a half. I'd say around 20-30 hours.

Excellent as always! A great view too. For some reason I really like the squares of the pavement (sidewalk?)... odd thing to pick up on, but they look great!
