Description This rich and gorgeous Eastern/Gypsy ensamble features comfortable harem pants, a light breezy blouse, lace-up waist bodice, accent vest, and a full circle skirt! Can be worn together to create the stunning outfit pictured here, or as seperates! This is a far cry from the tacky stock bellydance outfits seen elsewhere, made of sequins and lycra. THIS outfit is 100% custom-made for a perfect fit (people who dance especially can appreciate the importance of a costume that is made for you and fits well) constructed from rich and beautiful fabrics with a meticulous attention to detail. This is certainly not an outfit you see every day; and it is certainly one that will impress. Perfect for dancing , Pennsic parties, or strolling around your local Renfaire.

Very beautiful outfit. I think I've seen that pattern before, but I love it. But I personally would leave out the waist clincher. I've tried dancing in a corset and it hurts. It's hard to do belly rolls or ribcage isolations when you've got a proper working clincher. Hehe. But otherwise, I love the outfit. The blouse is simply amazing. I wish I could find/make one like that.

Hehe... I agree. I hate those tacky sequins too. Actually, I recognize the pattern, because I bought it too, but I have yet to make that costume. The little vest is very inspired by turkish fashion. I am working on a top for belly dancing that is inspired from indian blouses that are normally worn with a sari. I love ''ethnic'' costumes that are different than the typical cabaret belly dancer outfit.

The costume is lovely. Just be careful calling it "gypsy" since it is not authentic at all. The short vest like that is actually not turkish... what you are thinking of connects under the bust. A mini vest thing like this originally comes from Arabic tradition. Also, the cinch belt is not "gypsy" either. Traditional Roma folkloric garb usually consists of a corset or underbust vest with skirts and scarves of natural colors. And a Romani would never ever wear red.

Sorry to sound like an SCA snob, but I study folkloric costuming and my family is Romani, so I am a bit overprotective about proper cultural representation. But the CRAFT (as opposed to authenticity) is lovely. You did a fine job!
