Yeah it's supposed to be the dress Barbossa forces Elizabeth to wear on the Black Pearl.
If you look up costume photos online you'll see that's the right color and all. It really is a dark plum

nice, did you make your own pattern? have been trying to find a pattern. my sis wants to go as this to some fancy dress thing in september, i think i will probably end up making it for her lol (somehow)

Actually no I used Butterick pattern #3640 and made some adjustments. There are POTC costuming websites out there that are pretty useful.

Thanks! Actually there are some flaws... the dress couldn't even stay on the mannequin without needles holding it there... but I made this dress before I got a mannequin so the fit is off. But once I get actual trainining in fashion classes, I want to remake this- and make it even better

Haha thanks! I'm glad you like it!

I made this about a year ago.... BEFORE I had a mannequin.... When I put it on, I realized how poorly it fit!!! The only reason the dress stays on is because I fastened it with pins. But yeah, a dress like this, made perfectly, would probably take a few weeks. Once I get more practice I want to remake this and make it PERFECT lol
