My Landseer Newfoundland MarinShe's mostly blind, and when we are out hiking she pauses every now and then to listen for us to know which way to go...this is her at attention waiting for me to call her

he has the same white chest as her.
he had a cherry eye that he had to have surgery on. he's not blind but, it is kind of cloudy. i love newfies, i couldn't imagine my life without one. and again, she's beautiful. (:

Reminds me a bit of Mocny, who belongs to my parents-in-law, even though he's all black. I've seen quite a lot of newfoundland pics but none of them looks like Mocny. Mocny is over 11, so not a very long time before him...

The look on her face took my breath away because her eyes and the way she seems to be looking not at you but for you, reminds me of my blind Chihuahua mix who we just recently had to have put down... touched my heart.

Thank you. He lived a fairly long life for a dog riddled with health problems... 12 years... it just wasn't fair to let him live in pain any longer. As a dog lover I am sure you know the feeling.

Marin is 7. We rescued her when she was 3 and her cataracts were already significantly advanced at that time - she has slowly lost most of her vision over the last few years.

Oh, poor thing, I'm so sorry she lost most of her vision. But you saved her and I'm sure she's happy because she can feel your love, even if she can't see you!

She gets along really well without her vision - she doesn't let it slow her down at all. She's a very happy girl!
