We are speaking English, not her native language, and so something was lost (or rather, picked up) in translation.
Again, I apologized to her, but you can type up a storm for all I care. It's unfortunate she let someone's words get to her, but it's over and done with. If the word, "no" and an angry face is all it takes to upset her, then you should help her get over her sensitivity and avoid the internet (because, for obvious psychological reasons that I don't necessarily agree with, people drop their sensors on the internet).

I value canon (it is after all, the author's decision as to who ends up with whom), although I don't always agree with it. MitsukixTakuto from fullmoon for example: I'm a MitsukixEichi fan, but it is what it is. "Eso si que es," as my father told me.

You just disproved yourself. It's rather funny, actually. I won't go into details, though, you'll probably just act boring and deny it.
It is the author's decision, yeah, but that does not mean it's right or makes sense. It's subjective; isn't that much obvious?
Compare it to compositions by composers like Bach and Beethoven. If you play the original song, you play it exactly as it is. Or you can recompose it in a different key or a different style. Why can you not see what is so simple?

Transposing a sheet of music changes merely the key. I love Beethoven's work, but if you change the style of it, then it isn't Beethoven anymore. An authorial voice is what makes the work personal to the author, but this is all a tangent.
If the author, composer, artist, etc. decides on something, and the vast majority of his/her audience doesn't revolt, then he/she probably satisfied them to a sufficient level. Not that it's all about the audience, but if the author is working for money, that probably helps. This piece's intended audience was the one who paid the money, and if he/she likes it, that's all that matters.
I having stumbled upon the piece, merely commented in passing as a way of identifying Edward and therefore relating to the artist. Because if someone recognizes the character you draw, then it's safe to say that you drew them as well as you had hoped to.
