She can still hear cats talking to her, if they are reasonably close by. But from further away, and if from the left side, she will not be able to hear them clearly or at all. Her deafness only greatly impacts her hunting ability. She can not pinpoint prey that she can not see. Their sounds are usually audible to her, but their exact location is very hard for her to discern. Though, catching fish does not require hearing, so that is usually what Kestreldive hunts.

{ Personality } [Lazy | Gentle | Clever | Indifferent | Loyal]

Lazy || Unabashed in her laziness. Though, not to a fault. If the clan is dangerously low on food, she would not hesitate to go out and hunt for prey. It’s when things are fat and happy she relaxes, not wanting to put in anything but the bare minimum of effort. She uses her deafness as an excuse to skip as much work as she can get away with. Shies away from responsibility.

Gentle || Cares for others and will help if she can, even if they only need kind words or encouragement. Has an easy-going aura around her, and is soft-spoken. Almost never raising her voice in anger and it takes a lot to get her that far gone. She is good with kits and apprentices in that regard, but likes them more because they are not hers. Is able to forgive easily, seeing grudges as something that takes too much energy to keep.

Clever || While not necessarily the smartest cat, Kestreldive can be in a situation and very quickly know what she wants while also being able to see a way to get it. She can sometimes fool others into thinking what she wants them to, and then manipulating them into doing what she wants. This she never does with the intention of hurting others.

Indifferent || This plays more on her indifference to learn new things. She has a set of skills that she knows works for her, and she is not eager to try out new things on the slim hope it could be better than what she already has. Same goes for territory and the world beyond Tidalclan’s borders. Kestreldive is perfectly comfortable and safe with what she has at home and has no desire to see bigger and better things. She lacks curiosity.

Loyal || While she won‘t be the most actively loyal friend, not loudly taking a side in an argument or rushing to lecture a cat who‘s wronged her friend, she will still give support in a more passive way. A buddy to lean on, when tired of ranting and raving. A friend to help you up off the sand, after a failed fight. Reliable, but front and center about it.

- Kestreldive loves to jump off high cliffs into the ocean and she‘s pretty good at it. Almost always splashing safely into the water, and rarely, if ever, misjudging the height or landing. She is also an agile swimmer, able to hold her breath for longer than normal.

{ Backstory }

Kit || Kestreldive was born in a litter of three, but her two siblings died a few days later from an apparent sickness. She survived the illness, but it left her weakened for a long while. Because of that, her parents greatly coddled her. As she started to recover, she became more and more spoiled and arrogant, getting into trouble with the other kits in the nursery by play-fighting too roughly since she was keen on showing them she wasn’t a sick little kit anymore. When one of her parents was brought in to punish her, Kestreldive quickly learned to twist and play with the facts, trying to deceive her parents into thinking she was the victim. That worked especially well when it was learned she was deaf in one ear, since her parents still saw her as a frail kit.

Apprentice ||She never really looked forward to becoming an apprentice, not relishing the thought of following the orders of another cat. Kestreldive was used to doing things on her own accord, but once she was assigned to Sootheart, all that changed. She rebelled against him as much as she could in the beginning. Again learning that her defective hearing came in handy when you could pretend not to hear an order given to you. But Sootheart was not as easy to fool as her parents had been. He just as quickly learned her tricks and soon she could no longer get away with almost anything under his watch. Under the tomcat’s stern guidance, Kestreldive learned how to be a good clan cat. How to be kind and compassionate, to be loyal and selfless. He also taught her how to fight, and with her quick mind, she took to that very well. Sootheart showed her how to use her speed and agility to compensate for her lack of raw power and strength.

Warrior || Unlike her kit-self, not wanting to become an apprentice, she was very eager to be named a warrior. It meant freedom, and she did everything in her power to achieve it. She was soon named Kestreldive, after her love of jumping into the water from cliffs and for her agility, and was quick to fall back into some of her bad habits. While she kept the kinder attitude, she again became somewhat irresponsible by not always doing what was asked of her, or asking for help when she was perfectly capable of doing it herself. Still using her deafness as an excuse when it suits her. (More will be added from rps)
