Guess who's back?
First attempt with my new Cintiq 13HD as well as my first picture of 2014. It was pretty mind blowing being able to draw directly on the screen. Took some getting used to and I still haven't quite figured out my workflow yet, but I can already tell I'm faster at producing pictures like this with the Cintiq. This took me close to 4 hours from start to finish working directly in Photoshop. Doing it the old way would have taken twice as long.
Regardless of how easy it was to work on the Cintiq, I still have a lot of rust to shake off when it comes to drawing. I have been very lazy in that department in the past months. In fact, I believe this is only the second picture I've even sketched this year - the first being the Zecora block print. I don't have any excuses anymore.

This is amazing! I only dream of drawing and coloring like you! All I can look at are those colors and that shading and...and... EVERYTHING IS SO PERFECT. I can't explain how or why I love this so much (besides the fact it is super cool and fantastic). Honestly, this is one of my favorite fan drawings of Princess Luna I have ever seen. I am not joking when I say that. This is possibly one of your best digital drawings in your gallery. You are a great artist and inspire me. Keep up the good work - and maybe make a Celestia version (no pressure)!

Oh god, a Cintiq... my envy right now is just too high XD.
The product of that is just amazing. I just my favourite aspect is the pose, it makes the picture look very dynamic and fun to look at. The green outline is a fantastic complement, it sure makes Luna pop out a lot more.

This is awesome. The green outline is definitely something different, and I like it. There is something weird going on with the bottom half of her front left leg, but I only noticed it on second glance. I'm really glad to see you getting back into drawing too.
By the way, that sucks that the studio didn't work out, and I hope the new building come summer does better for you.

Yeah, I was trying to give her a bent front leg like she was bending down or something. Now that I look at it with fresh eyes it didn't turn out quite like I wanted to. I might go back and try to fix it tonight.

I like playing around with different color harmonies. I tried to get away from monochromatic colors which tend to be used in 90% of all Luna pictures (they're all blue all the time). I really wanted to throw some color into this one and went with a more spread out analogic color set (green, blue, and purple).
