When I think about OCs, I want to crawl under a rock.
Explanation: I don't draw mine enough. Also, some people are scary good at designing, it's amazing *^*
Sooo I finished this a few days ago, but for the sake of posting I decided to clean it up a bit, since I rushed some parts during the process to meet the deadline (o v o)b
In all honestly I based this drawing on about.... two quotes from this character's profile:
a.) "generally calm, wise, thoughtful, jaded"
b.) "co-pilot aka star dad"
Some part of my brain decided that these qualities made him the type to sit among the stars and think about water and flowers, but hey, the heck do I know. It's a bit of a stretch, but so are half the things I think, so I hope it's still... Enough of a fit, I suppose.
I will admit, ALL of Yuki's characters are gorgeous, and it was hard to pick. But from the very beginning, I resolved to draw a male character, despite EVERY female character in that gallery being right up my alley (except maybe one). Why? For the sake of proving to the world that I can draw guys decently. A lot of people have told me they want to commission me for female characters in the future -- and don't get me wrong, I love drawing pretty girls -- but nobody has even mentioned a male character to me, which I decided to take as a challenge. Granted, I still have a much better understanding of girls, and they do tend to fit my design tastes better, but... I don't want to limit myself that way.
When it comes to the contest, I'm literally a speck of dust among giants -- I feel like half of the powerhouses who I actively keep an eye on entered it LOL. Even so, it was fun to participate in. Thank you so much for hosting, Yuki, and I hope you (and everyone else who sees this) enjoys this piece!

AND HEY IT WAS AN ACCIDENT I THINK since these male characters fit me well stylistically too -- rare that I find male designs this... drawable
There was actually another one ( toyhou.se/361001.sol ) I wanted to draw, but I decided on this guy because the other one isn't wearing a shirt and I haven't seen enough of muscular, shirtless guys to know how that would work :3c
As for dying YOU HAVE PLENTY OF THINGS TO LIVE FOR -- being a save reminder for the lot of us just happens to be one of them :>

I get my kick from making projects and promises with others, personal projects don't really have enough drive for me. Though I do still attempt to do one every couple of months. Bara men... dream goal made.
The fancy designs are always nice, either that very simple designs.

The piling on of detail usually does result in fanciness. as it's a bit harder to be unique with simple designs nowadays, but it's still very possible.

I can't deny my maso to art....
I've seen more than my fair share of simplistic cuties, so I understand. Ahh, not being able to draw abs in the public. Judgemental humans make drawing the human body complicated.
