Description Mexican Wolf, Columbus Zoo.

One of the wolves at the zoo. She's my favorite of the pack, being the most active of the three. And also the one who tends to pose nicely for me...

The Zoo's wolves are being raised with the hope of reintroducing them into the wild, so they're mainly hands-off.

Side-note: This is my 100th Deviation!

Even with them being mostly hands off would the daily visitors to the zoo make them more used to the presence of people than a wild born wolf would be?

I'm really lucky that I happen to live near a zoo that has such a good program for wolves... And this particular wolf, I swear, knows exactly how gorgeous she is and will happily come over towards where the people are watching her and pose

Very nice shot indeed! Is their enclosure behind glass or fencing or were you able to take this with any "interference"? Such a nice view of the wolf!

And it's shot through glass. The Columbus Zoo does a really good job of wiping the visitor-side of the glass off each day though, so it's not too bad to shoot through.

Once you get above the line of muddy paw prints on the other side of the glass, that is

Ah, I see. Good for the Zoo for keeping the glass so clean! I've not been able to visit this zoo yet but hope to someday! I also have some wolf photography, so I always notice what others are able to do. Very nice indeed!

Yeah, it's a good zoo. Voted #1 zoo in the country by USA travel guide recently! ~shameless plug for my zoo~
