The style reminds me a lot of the illustrations in a Poe anthology I bought a lifetime ago. It's perfection.

Hello,

My name’s Mathilde and I’m writing as an intern from a writer’s society in Aalborg, Denmark. I’ve been put in charge of finding images to go with our writing prompts programme, which helps aspiring writers with a piece of text and an inspirational image to get the creative juices flowing.

I’m writing you because I’d like to use this picture for our writing prompts, so if you would like the extra exposure and agree to us using it, we will in return agree to not use it for any other purposes than the writing prompts.

Kind Regards,

Mathilde Læssø

This image directly touched my heart, and I can't find words to describe how I feel. And also made me think about something... When I first saw it, I made one interpretation of it, and I read the comment ("he had to know...") after... We are influenced by our experiences when we look at art and because of that not everyone might see the same... the story wont be the same...

A few years ago I was in a hard stage of my life (The old and cracked tower), and as a consequence I decided I had to end with my life; but as you imagine, that wasn't exactly what I wanted... I was eager for someone to help me. The one and only sound the bell made when he jumped represented that scream for help

The innocent curiosity of the gargoyle pulls me every time I look at this. The contrast between the rust-red stains and cloak and the decaying stone heightens the feeling...
The emotion found in all of your work is incredible.

I know it's just, one of those pieces which gives you chills...

The innocence and curiosity of the Fearie peering at the dead man is just, indescribable.

And I love the direction in which the eye is forced to take when looking at this piece; Firstly at the Fearie and then following its gaze towards the hanging man and realizing. It's simplistic beauty, but also so deep.
