omg...this is priceless. I love it. When I saw it I kinda lost my breath for a milisecond because the composition is so simple yet beautiful. I wish people still did simplistic art that looks so good.

She seems older than most of the girls you make. I think it's her clavicles. But she looks around 12 or so. I think it's perfect, because that is when children become youth and are trying to make their identity known or to change it.

I loooovvveeee the delicate shoulders and collarbone as well as the overall sentiment of this drawing. it's so beautiful, her posture, the light, the purpose behind the setting. You've done a beautiful thing here.

Today I wished I had a mask to hide myself, my feelings.
Life can be so funny, so lovely.. but also that hurting. *phew*

..but the perspective and how stunned she is looking up to the masks..
- it is really well done.
The colour mixture is fantastic, gives the whole its right depth.

I love the innocence in the childs face. Faces are very important to me as well. every composition I do begins with a face to set the tone. Great job

baboon-o-matic [2004-07-25 22:58:10 +0000 UTC]

which one to wear. THAT is the REAL guestion.

not all masks are bad nor fake, do you agree, trixis?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

baboon-o-matic In reply to baboon-o-matic [2004-07-29 20:52:40 +0000 UTC]

thats exactly what i meant with the false question. well, we all can't share similar experiences.

what i mean is that you have to create a mask, a goal, to develope as a person. you can't be perfect without developement.

but masks represent apparently very different things to us. to me, it's a positive thing. it can be negative though. but after all, this is a grate peace

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

BeatrizMartinVidal In reply to baboon-o-matic [2004-07-26 00:27:33 +0000 UTC]

Well, perhaps, the question is not which one to wear but if it's neccesary to wear one.

Same here. A while ago, I thought about doing a series of oils with masks, people wearing masks, people wearing their own faces, with a hint of something different behind... so many ways to see it.
Very good piece.
I am very attracted to the stripes you often include in the cloths. makes the piece pop out

BeatrizMartinVidal In reply to screamingfish [2004-07-23 22:26:54 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much but, my God. That's too much for me. Goya is one of the great masters of spanish painting. I love some of his works, but he is ...well....one of the wildest painters I've seen. Do you know his black paintings?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

screamingfish In reply to BeatrizMartinVidal [2004-07-26 04:54:05 +0000 UTC]

I don't think that I am familiar with his black paintings. When I think of Goya I think first of his etchings; (The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters). I think your style has something of Goya's etchings in it; your drawings are kind of like Goya with little girls...I really like them.
