Description IM RACING THE THUNDERSTORM RACING IT OMGOMGOMG BEFORE IT D/Cs me xDD

This peice is a culmination of EFFORT taking place over about 5 seperate aftenoons. Starting off as an effort to improove the detail of my backgrounds so I have more stuff to stick in my art portfolio for next year.

OHGODS THE STORM IS GETTING CLOSER *clings to keyboard*

I wanted to show the flowing grace and motion of a podcat diving underwater, you see they can stretch out really quite far like and otter Please for gods sakes don't crit the anatomy of a made up creature
My model for this is *MeiKaiRiko 's podcat character fathom shes a real beauty :3 note the missing frontal light on her fin! Lookit the gorgeous anthro pic Riko did of her recently and inspired me to do some more podkitteh themed stuff --> [link]

Im really quite pleased with how the underwater scene turned out and the amount of texture on fathom.. URGH you miss half of the effort i put into it with it at this size but still xD I worked hard on this so I hope yah like it!

THE STORM IS UPON US! EEEEEEEEEEEEHHEEHEE!!!!

I love this species and wanted to say that the amount of thought you have put into them is simply amazing. It is commendable as well that unlike many original creatures, podcats are actually logical and the idea that they could, through years of evolution actually exist.
So in short, thank you for creating something so amazing.

I think this is my favorite piece of your podcats so far... Definitely an awesome new species. I want to draw one badly, but I need to work on my overall feline sketching skills... I love the ray of light coming down through the water, very well done

HOLY HELL I swear I sat outside on my porch and watched the wicked lightning for a good half hour never failing to be awed by natures fury o.o it was like two storms colliding at one point with two different thunder claps heheh. Nice to hear from you again dirty and thankyou ^^

This is so gorgeous, Holly! Podcats are often drawn just paddling around the water like we would expect them to, but this sinuous grace is something else altogether and I love it. It's cool how you made the glow of the lights trail just behind them to give an extra sense of movement, and the background is absolutely fantastic - so deep and beautiful. Great job!

AYYIIII! Fathom looks so...so...

the background is incredible! i'm always facinated with underwater geography.
i love how the decent in the cliff shows the true depth of the water. are those schools of fishies i see swimming in the distance?

she looks so powerful in this particular pose. i can't begin to express how much this piece displays your extensive knowledge on not only your Podcat species, but it reflects your abilities to be able to mold and bend your creatures into any pose and it still be anatomically correct.

i am so honored that you used Fathom in your back ground study. thank you again so much

woahh. This is amazing. The body is so smooth, and so graceful. I can really tell it's diving into the water. I love how the fish looks and the little blood where the teeth are gashing in. You never forget a single detail. All the bubbles look amazing, and I love the fur texture. The shading is just perfection, and the background is eye popping. Beautiful work.
