Description So I've learned quite a bit over the last week or two about painting in Photoshop. I bought a book, the Beginners Guide to Digitalpainting in Photoshop to help me out. To be honest, i didn't really learn anything aside from a small bit over perspective. They did, however, provide a few custom brushes that I did use. The book itself didn't cover much when it came to specifically using specific brushes or brush settings so i had to figure that part out on my own. I did find what it was i was looking for but not in the book. I thought about it while at work and had an idea to use the smudge tool to get the effect that i wanted. Got home and tested my theory and it worked! Now, this is by all means not my best work, but it is a start with digital painting. I liked how this turned out, so I will be creating more paintings! Here is the source file I used for my painting. Spent about 30 minutes to an hour on this piece.

I thought the same thing as Alopec. XD It looked like a photo. Very nicely done.

This is really pretty! From the little preview icon I actually thought it was a photo. But I really like the painterly style you used. The textures are so realistic, looks like it could be a physical painting.
