Day 2 of Mermay

Went with mermaid that’s a little more traditional for the second one. I had to rework a lot of this one midway through because I was trying to go for a more dynamic perspective and it wasn’t quite working out. Really should’ve gotten more references. Good news is I’ve still got 28 days left to learn from mistakes like that.

Fun fact: Koi fish were bred by farmers to have beautiful and vibrant scales, because of their lack of camouflage, they have difficulty surviving in the wild.
