HOLY CRAP. I DID IT! I attempted the first page of my very own ridiculous, serious-business Dragon Age fan comic.
I've decided to start one, 'cause I seriously want to force myself into uncomfortable drawing situations. Panel 2 is a prime example of one of these said uncomfortable drawing situations. Whole scenes like that? Backgrounds? TREES? THEY SCARE THE SHIT OUT OF ME. So I hope to conquer all of these little illustration fears through different settings and angles and shit like that. Oh, and I also just love Dragon Age, goddamnit.
Mayhaps, when I feel more comfortable with comics, I'll come up with something totally original. Pssh. That'll be the day. (:

Well, I work in a super high resolution in Photoshop. When I open a new document, I use the U.S. Paper Preset (which has a resolution of 300, I believe). I then zoom in super close and make swift motions with my tablet pen strokes. The more zoomed out you are, the more shaky your lines are going to be. Then, of course, if my lines are too chunky in places, say, for example, the ends of hairs, I just shave them down with the eraser tool.

omg, I started doing a LOT of realistic practice - trying to work without lineart.
Like you said, but for me, the lineart kicks mine. ;n;
it would be really silly if we - being two... say, uh, not-professional-but-kind-of-good-artists would help each other out.

They are! They force me to take all kinds of scary risks, when I'm so used to drawing stationary subjects with neutral or happy expressions and absolutely no background.

OK OK OK. This is amazing. First panel is really beautiful and peaceful looking - I love how the moon seems to glow and all of the stars are at different magnitudes of brightness. The second panel is amazing because HEY. You did make the fire all glow-y!
