I love my country. I love my country so much, that Nationalism was the reason why i joined the Army. Unfortunately I couldn't stay in the Army, but i tried my best, even though i am human and have weaknesses. But that in of itself doesn't tear me away from what is important. And what is important?What's important is that you love your country. And if you want to move to a different country that's fine, just as long as you grow to love that country. And not abused the crap out of it's system and leech off the government. That is not what a Nationalist does, that's not what any patriotic person does.
We all want a better life. But sometimes we can't go where we want to go. Sometimes we cant do what we want to do. So if this is your life, what do you need to do? You need to change the world around you. First help out your community and make sure your family and friends support your ideas. Then put that plan into action and make you community better, then you inspire others to make their communities better.
Slowly and with time, by having Nationalism you will get the sense of pride that will turn your hardships into a joy for generations to come. Then and only then, will things get better, just as long as you work for it.

I used to have a housemate who was severely mentally handicapped and would make really inane and naive statements that sounded like they came from a first-grader's history presentation. Statements like "Columbus discovered America." and "Hitler was a very bad man." and "I think people who break the rules should get in trouble." You remind me of him.

I realize that "facts" aren't really the left's "thing" but roughly 44% of the military supported Trump BEFORE he started rocking in the White House! I did not vote for the man, but I will in 2020.

Hrm. Nope. Nationalism has way too many negative aspects throughout history. Hitler(and Lenin for that matter in Russia) began his rise to power in Germany by stirring up local pissed off Nationalists. Historically speaking there are very few 'famous quotes' that support Nationalism when compared to Patriotism. Patriots don't pull the crap that Nationalists have done.

No privileged people are very capable in seeing their own privileges. The trouble comes when they become egotistical and entitled assholes. Using the government as a middleman for ANY AGENDA, whether it be free prescription drugs, welfare, subsidies like Head Start, health care, or Corporate Welfare is really using a Mafia to get what you want by forcibly stealing from others at the point of government guns with the threat of going to jail for disagreement.
People don’t wanna be free. They wanna feel good almost at all costs. You can guess what gets discarded first.
Next is. They don’t wanna suffer. It's pretty much reflex. Like a dog who gets beaten with a stick. Next time he sees a stick in your hand - it will run because suffering is bad.
Problem with wanting to feel good is that everything has consequences. You enjoy eating food. Fine. You might get obese thou. You enjoy driving fast - it’s risky. Playing on instruments - you need time for that.
It's pretty much like a candle, your life. You decide where to spend it. Most of the young think they are immortal or something. Or that they'll die at 27 or whatever. They bumble around arrogantly and do shit they'll bare and regret probably for the rest of their lives. Freedom may seem is living like so you won’t regret anything. Regret is a consequence too. It’s like glucose system connected to your vein, only the dripping substance is liquid guilt. It is administered by itself, with time.
Another part of freedom knows what you want; it may take time and there's a consequence while you just want to be admired or with people all the time. You become a cog in a machine, where the wishes of the herd are your wishes. Again, people desire not to be free. Very little of the people will value their own opinion over the opinion of the others.
Society are sheep, doesn’t matter West or East, it’s the same fabrication and populous control all over. How long before we are climbing for dollars, because our universal basic income has been scrapped due to our views and political leanings. AI is the start. The start of the campaign to break the common man’s spirit. Wisdom is what Americans are lacking off. We have become retrograde and for some reason we have allowed our reality to be distorted by our politicians, the media, the education system, and yes even our religious leaders amongst other entities. We truly are sheeple.
So remember, it is us the slaves who run the world. It’s us who build it is us who clean it is us who drive trucks to deliver food and all types of goods it is us who run power plants in fact it is us who do everything that is done on this planet the elite just profit from us and say they are doing us favors so maybe the answer is to stop everything for a while and bring it all down! All empires fall and the real people of this planet will flourish!

To be certain, I think that word started to have a resurgence nearing the end of the Obama administration when more and more Western nations were starting to feel their sense of identity fading, including America. I heard it all the time during Bush and even Clinton, but even the word "patriot" was rare to hear in the media during Obummer.

Actually I always had Nationalism. Not only that, but if you have Patriotism you have Nationalism as well. Cause you can't call yourself a Patriot without being a Nationalist. Because they are one in the same.
