A dynamic duo ready for take-off. Although it was produced in huge numbers during the second world war, today the Il-2 Sturmovik is a rarity, this being one of only two airworthy examples left in the world. It aborted take-off shortly after this shot was taken (it hit a runway light; don't know if it aborted because it hit the light, or if it hit the light because it aborted) and didn't actually fly.
