I got the idea by piecing together its legends. one of them is that he appeared in egypt alongtime ago w/ his tendrils reaching out to children. Then I remembered that one of the plagues moses sent to the egyptians in the bible was the angel of death and then he killed all of the first born in egypt. Another was from a book, a character said that slendy was an angel.

To be honest, I view Slenderman as an misunderstood outcast. Someone who underwent something horrible from which there is no escape, and drives people to insanity by accident, forcing him to be alone and scared himself. He just wants to be accepted, but nobody can, no matter how much they may want to. It's almost like a Greek tragedy of modern popular fiction, a lone, frightened child trapped in a dark, scarring shell that refuses him friends, family or comfort despite his best efforts to be human and happy again as such. And is played out just as well like that :,(

Slenderman is our universal fear of the unknown in an age where the unknown is nearly an impossibility. I think you capture that dark feeling quite well.
