I've always been so fascinated by plagues, and I chose to illustrate the time period in history of The Black Death.
I would always wonder to myself,"What would happen to me if I lived during the black death?"
My friends and family would be dying all around me. and I, who has such a weak immune system, would surely catch the plague as well. How would that feel? Something unknown is killing everyone, and we have no clue how to stop it.

The Black Death reduced the population of Europe drastically, killing 75-200 million people. It began in central Asia and spread to Europe during the 1340s because of rats that carried the disease.
The black-cloaked figure in my picture is a Plague Doctor. Usually qualified doctors would flee the area to prevent risk of catching the sickness, and the "Plague Doctors" were volunteers that went from patient to patient to check or confirm if they had the plague. They dressed in long cloaks, beaks stuffed with special herbs, eye-pieces, and hats to protect and try to prevent themselves from catching the sickness.

Ohhhhh isn't history interesting?
