Very strong picture that brings a lot of emotions into it. I really love how the colors appeared in the image it makes it all shiny and wonderful while the subject is in a way old and sad. Composition talking it's also very impressive to see how the road gets lost in the distance showing the immensity of the scene. The title says a lot too ''It used to be homes'' brings a lot of feelings and another title couldn't have been possibly more appropriate. Overall it's a very strong picture that ends up for sure in my personal favorites e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=" (Wink)"/> Good job

Awesome shot!

I like how the buildings on the side are kind of.. dilapidated, I suppose.

It's interesting how there are different colours there, and different aspects to it as well. While that looks quite old and faded, you've got the fresh grass and the well-worn road, it looks like.

I think it's great how you can see the sea beyond, as it seems to emphasise that this is an island. The clouds add further depth to things and.. yeah, it's not too bad.

Thank you so much

Yes the contrasts are what attracted me to this picture, they were very strong: beautiful sunny day but with a few heavy clouds, old houses but not creepy at all, rather peaceful and... natural, land and sea... But again the credit goes to Ireland, I know I've said that before but it's about the most photogenic place on Earth

Yes you have to go, it's an absolutely amazing place! I honestly was not expecting it to be that great when I went, but it turned out to be one of my best journeys ever! I'd say it's definitely one of the countries in Europe one needs to see

Excellent shot! Do people still live on this island?

Awstein In reply to Mayeaux [2013-08-23 10:47:36 +0000 UTC]

Yes, there are two rather big villages there and a few scarce houses. It's the biggest of the Aran Islands so you have a fair amount of people, even excluding tourists
The great part though is that there are also a lot of natural or historical places, be it fields or very ancient forts. You kind of get the best of both worlds, as you can communicate with very nice locals, but you also get all the great walks and views

And thank you
