Art trade with *RazorCookie of their canine demon character, Oshuka. Inspired by the beauties of biblical literature. . even though having nothing to do with it at all. Still, I loved drawing this character, he has an amazing design!
Done on bristol smooth paper using copic markers, watercolors, salt and gel pens (white, copper and gold).

I am wondering whether to die of amazement, die of fear, or glue my face to the computer...... perhaps a mixture of all of those ^^ well, not funny joke aside, THIS IS SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!! the coloring on this is just unreal.... and that shading is so cool, I can hardly believe it's not all digital. how did you manage to fit so much detail into one picture?! goodness, and those chains....

Yes, markers are always hard to work with at first. Copics are nice because they are alcohol based markers (not water-based) and they won't bleed when they come in contact with water! Copics actually smell like Vodka. I don't think I will ever be able to drink vodka now because it will always remind me of tasting a copic marker. No matter how great markers are, they are never for licking <.<
Anyways, I do the line work like this: [link] and then I do my copic work on the dog. I almost always move from dark colors to light colors with markers and always from light to dark with watercolor paint. I add the paint once the markers are on and let it dry. When the paint is still wet, you add the salt and as it dries, it creates the little starbursts!

and wow that lineart is amazing! it seems like this must have taken a long time if you had to do all that... I think I would like to try to work more on watercolor and marker, pictures like this really inspire me ^^

The copics take a while to get the hang of, but I think they are really versatile markers so they fit a bunch of different art styles. I would just keep playing around until you find something that looks good! My first few copic pieces looked like crap <.<

The background was colored nicely, did you use watercolors for it? I also love the position on how you drew Oshuka. The details are drawn well. It looks like you put a lot of time and effort intp this, eh?

Yep, we decided over the summer to do an art trade (during the time when I accepted over ten at once and am still trying to work them off)!
Oshuka was tons of fun to draw though! I love everything about the design, especially the bright blue fur and that little mouth on his neck, that made me really happy c:
Anyways, yes, the background is watercolor with salt for the starburst texture :3

The first thing I see that is a hell disgraced being is coming out of its shell in this sort looking form I can only guess, and a possible chance of testicle rape by the things like an octopus I see going offscreen. I like the chain pentagram as well you have as it as the sense of a dark world element to it, plus the the mouth of whatever creature behinds its back and the substance that is covering the lower half of his body. It seems this beast is in torment and even the fiery colors in the background suggest that also well done.

But yep, he is a hell hound like creature, so it's fitting to have him emerging from the chaos. This piece was based on some of the ideas in Paradise Lost (hence the title) and so the black goo is chaos and the chain is golden for a reason as well c:
