Quite understandable if that were the case, of course - on the other hand it could just be having some other variety of Bad Day!

It actually saw its portrait in Stephen Jay Gould's The Book of Life, and was understandably upset at being portrayed as a shaggy Pelorovis

That is one distinctly-grumpy looking bovid - it looks rather as though it were preparing to hunt down & trample something that had just tried to eat its young!

If it were as militantly aggressive as the modern day African buffalo, I wouldn't be surprised one bit.
