Tsukishima always keeps his appearance of someone who is irritated.

There's a simple reason for that -- it's because he is irritated. There's a long list of reasons why to go along with it, as well. Though, it would serve to only annoy him more if he were to list them all mentally. The list begins to grow as he watches a particular figure (one that just so happened to be you), continue talking.

Boy, could you talk.

Those lips that he secretly admires have been running nonstop, constantly spilling words. Most of them weren't all that important, mainly things relating to your lunch, random animals, and whatever else. Tsukishima drums his fingers, his eyebrow twitching. He silently contemplates what he should do to get you to be quiet.

Even if it lasts only for a second.

He's an asshole, that's a fact. He figures if he puts on his headphones and plays some music, you would get the hint. At the same time, that might be a bit too harsh, even for him.

Not that he minds, or so he pitifully attempts to convince himself.

Tsukishima inwardly groans as you continue talking about this amazing recipe you tried earlier today. When would this torture ever end? And why couldn't he bring himself to be an asshole to you, and get out of this situation easily?

"And now," you take a short break to catch your breath, "I'm going to tell you about the weirdest dream ever! Okay, okay, so, it was you, me, and... this blonde kid. He had like, uh, a rabbit suit on. Wait? Or was it a koala suit? Oh, come to think of it, his hair wasn't blonde, it was bright green, and-"

Tsukishima begins to zone out. At any rate, his ears were accustoming to your nonstop talking.

"Hey." he finally interrupts you ranting about the green-haired-koala-suit-wearing guy from your dream.

You blink, eyeing him curiously. He has been uncharacteristically silent while you were talking, a fact you were failing to notice. That was a definite sign something was off.

"What- hey!" you whine, as Tsukishima flicks your nose.

With a click of his tongue, he continues, "--Why have you been so... off?"

You tilt your head, unsure of what he means. You become slowly aware that Tsukishima almost seems to be holding back on you, an aspect that you're somewhat grateful for. After all, you've seen him teasing relentlessly, and it's not a pretty sight.

"Uh, I don't know what you mean," you carefully say. "How have I been off? If anything, it's you that's been acting weird." Maybe that last bit wasn't as careful as it could've been. Alas, your curiosity has finally gotten ahold of you.

Tsukishima opens his mouth -- only to close it. Well, you weren't wrong, per se. He has been acting strange, too. The reason why is unbeknownst to him, or is it?

Tsukishima watches, hoping you'll speak next. You don't. He looks to his side, unsure what to do next.

Only to look at you again.

This time, he studies you. Particularly your face. From your eyes, to your nose, and even to your lips. Within him, there's a fluttering sensation that overwhelms him in waves of heat. He feels it on his face, and even his ears.

He gulps, coming to a realization. This odd feeling isn't entirely new, now that he thinks about it. Whenever you're around, he seems to feel this way. In these past few moments, he's been able to finally decipher the meaning.

Still, he's brought back down to earth when you clear your throat.

"I-Is something wrong? I didn't think it was possible, but you're even more quiet than before now." Your voice is all but a whisper, one with hints of worry in it. Tsukishima does a fake cough.

"M-me? No, it's you," he murmurs somewhat reluctantly, "Why are you so damn annoying!"

You don't seem to take his insult to heart, but only purse your lips.

Tsukishima almost utters the words you said to him right back at you. Now, of all times, you finally quieten down. When he wants you to say anything, if it means making this inevitable silence go away.

Only for him to discover he should talk. So, he does; albeit awkwardly.

"It's so annoying how you talk so passionately about whatever, even orange juice! How the hell can anyone be passionate about orange juice? But damn, you sure found a way. Of course it would be you -- there's always something so odd about you, after all," his breathing becomes somewhat more labored, as you allow him to continue.

"I mean, it makes no sense, you don't make sense, and I don't either. You're cute for one fact, something I don't get. And I don't get this damned rush I feel whenever you're around! Even when you're being so goddamn annoying, and talking about crap I normally wouldn't care about, and probably don't care about, it means no-"

"Sense?" you finish before he can. He feels startled, but manages a calm exterior.

"Tsukishima-san, I think you like me." their a certain smugness in your tone that manages to inflame his annoyance further.

"Hell no," he seethes. "That can't be possible."

"But I think it is, after all, you practically just admitted it. What, with the whole calling me cute thing and all."

"Don't be so full of yourself."

"I'm not! Well, I am to some degree, but hey! I'm only reiterating what you claimed earlier."

Tsukishima scrunches his eyebrows together, "You forgot something crucial."

"And what would that be?" you inquire back. Tsukishima's heart is beating like never before, as these next words leave his mouth.

"Whether or not you like me back."

Leave it to Tsukishima to find a roundabout way to confess his feelings.

You can only stare at him -- taken aback that he'd be so bold. A few incoherent words leave your mouth, before you decide it's best to say nothing at all. Mirroring Tsukishima's expression, your cheeks are a bright vermillion, and mouth agape.

"I... I do like you back," your voice is quite meek for someone who was previously so boastful. "A lot, actually. Ah, in fact, that explains why I talk around you so much."

Tsukishima's fumbles weakly in a final attempt to keep his cool upon hearing your confession, manages to raise an eyebrow.

"And what would that be?"

"I have a weird habit of talking around people I like. Platonically, or in your case, er, romantically...?"

His embarrassment morphs into something dangerous. A smirk.

"Hm, is that so?" After these past few minutes being him who's been that flustered one, he takes pleasure in seeing your own nervous expressions. There's a gleam in his eye that you can't pin down. In a few quick moments, he's in front of you, lips hovering over your own.

"Permission to kiss the one who's romantically interested in me?" Tsukishima enjoys drawing out the word romantically, only to see you squirm a bit.

"You've had it all along."

With no more time to spare, he swoops down, lips pressing against your own.
