Description
So I had this urge to draw cute little creatures and eventually I came up with these guys. The full colored ones are the ones I sketched out a while back and I just added more sketches as time went on. They've been sitting on my computer for quite some time and I felt it was time to introduce you all to the little guys. Say hello to the Budlings! 8D

I'm still developing these guys but here's some of the info I've come up with so far:

Budlings are very shy and skittish little beings that reside all around in the forests. They only grow to about four inches (yup, they're pretty tiny :3 ) so things that are bigger and tower over them scare them pretty easily. They also don't have much means of defense so that makes them pretty frightened of larger animals and people as well. They do have mouthfuls of sharp pointy little teeth, (top center) though considering how small they are their bite won't do much damage and might just sting a little but it may be of some help in defending off a predator if attacked. However, their biggest advantage is the fact that they are extremely quick little creatures. Budlings may not be able to fight off a predator very easily but they sure can outrun one! Even if that doesn't work, their natural camouflage also comes in handy when hiding from a threat.

Budlings all have blue eyes and green skin but the plants that grow from off them can come in various colors and types. Such as the female Budlings can have different kinds of flowers grow from them and the male Budlings have different types and colors of leaves on them as well. The leaves on the male Budlings grow from off them naturally but the little leaves around the females are just sewn together to create little outfits for themselves. As babies, a male Budling will have a single leaf grow from off his head and a few around his shoulders while a female Budling will have a tiny sprout grow from her head instead. (bottom left)

The main trait of a Budling is that they're avid gatherers, which is normally when a person might see one of these skittish creatures is when they're collecting food or supplies. But the one thing that Budlings love most are trinkets; just various things a traveler through the forest might have on them or might accidentally drop. Sometimes their curiosity gets the best of them and they end up becoming little thieves in which they'll take anything shiny or interesting looking from off of people. They always utilize everything they find (or unintentionally steal) and will either use it for building material in their homes, turn them into tools or might even use it for clothing.

Budlings also speak a language of their own but most of them understand english pretty well and some can even speak a bit of it. And even though Budlings are afraid of most people, if they become friends with someone they really like and trust then they'll stick by them and become a trustworthy little companion........ with the exception of maybe taking a few shiny trinkets from them now and then :3

So that's about all I got on the Budlings. But I love 'em and hope to draw more of them. ^^ If you want to RP with them just remember that they're pretty jumpy and easily frightened little creatures so be sure to approach slowly :3
