Always happy to see an enriched depiction of Xen. I love alien worlds and Xen is no exception. The original game is old as hell, so of course, the developers were limited with what they can show us in polygons, colors, etc. Another reason why I'm hyped for Black Mesa so much, but they're still working on the xen levels -_-

I'm still not sure what this attack does. In the original, it seemed like a slap. Probably stung a bit, but didn't do much damage. In BMS, it seems to do even less damage but will mess up your screen if you're anywhere near it. Or anywhere far away for that matter.

I really love the Houndeyes. They actually had a very sophisticated set of attack damages and ways of showing the player what type of damage they do.

To be perfectly honest, I'd only noticed the first one, since by that point I'd either gotten good enough at killing them or running past them to not see the more vivid colours.

Same here, even just hearing a glimpse of their charge sound would send me off in a frenzy of bullet firing and crowbar swinging

I can't say I ever go into a frenzy. I'm too calm for that sort of thing, which is why I would never be a very good Let's Play commentator. I have a very emotive friend, though, and I'm trying to get her to be a Let's Play commentator.
