Funny that the Suren dual meaning only came to me after I just thought of this as a mermaid-version hehe
I'm glad you like the style, been ages since I've practiced lineless drawing, and of an entire scene ^^

You are getting better and better at drawing creatures and backgrounds! OoO I love the BG looks so eerie, the colors red and dark and the gradient/light of the red on the water and such is so well made! OoO I love also the Design of 'Siren' head XD
This kind of scenario AND this atmosphere definitely would freak me out for life and want me never to get in the water if this Siren head was real! XD
This one probably sinks ships and eats people...AND NOW I am curious about the relationship with the Land-walking Siren Head...are they rivals? OoO Do they compete for the humans to eat?! OR Is this 'Siren' Head like a 'siren' to the Land-walking Siren Head too and then eats it??! OoO So many questions!!! XD

I'm slowly taking notes from other artists on how to create atmosphere hehe
I've actually seen this illustration of the "Mother Megaphone " calling the other Sirenheads (the mother isn't something the original creator made, but I think he did wrote that it's not a single creature but a species), so maybe they have adapted to different territories as humans have expanded their reach beyond land? well, that's my personal theory, anyway. If that's the case, since the original Sirenhead doesn't seem to be built for swimming and can maybe go as far in the water as its head can peek above water, the land- and sea-faring types probably have exclusive hunting grounds within their reach that they just can't overstep because their on physical build rather than territorial issues
Personally, since its siren is meant to be mounted on boats, I think it slinks onto abandoned ships to lure rescuers farther into the deep waters where they are more unlikely to be saved themselves
