Description Just finished this piece. I am very pleased with it. The line drawing of the figure took about an hour and a half. The rest of it was done completely in photoshop CS2. The complete project took about 10.5 hours. Enjoy!

hey man luv the detail and design in this and the head statues in the distance are awesome

Not to be picky and just to help
IMO of the scenery i don't really think it contrast's too well with the character since it has more of a painterly or realistic flow in some areas and a more colorful and cartoonish in others like the character and the statues
It just seems like theres too many different elements of medium clashing together which doesn't complement the character that well which i believe is the focus

Hope I wasn't too critical

Any criticism is great criticism. Especially on here! It shows the beautiful comradeship we share here! Way ahead of you on the part about the scenery! It was some experimentation I was doing. The next ones I will do, I'll actually hand draw the backgrounds as I did the figure. Just trying out the ways that other folks paint. But the more I experiment, the more I become comfortable with the traditional way of creating pieces with digital coloring coming second.

One love and thanks!

Yo man so srry for the late reply I had military duties
but your absolutely right I always accept criticism good or bad myself

I believe people do not want aspire to be a true artist if they can't accept a lil crit

Yeah I usually don't give crits because I don't wanna seem like I know it all but I notice your style is similar to my own and how I use to work in the past but of course I received some crits about my own work flow which pushed me in the right direction as well as getting really critical with my own stuff before I even put it out there like anatomy lighting and overall rendering

Experimenting is great and I do it all the time to see what works and what doesn't and what people think

I actually started going back to my own traditional roots of doing things since I was originally doing everything digital and I find it much easier to do things that I felt uneasy about before and vice versa

Keep it up man I would luv to see some more of your characters and feel free to check my stuff out as I will be posting alot of my own character work up soon and would luv some crits as well if you have the time

Very nice...for a sec I thought it was your interpetation of Storm.

Thanks a lot. Not an interpetation of Storm, BUT the look was kind of inspired by her. She is one of my favorite, if not MY FAVORITE comic book characters. The best art work I have seen of her is by the current artist of Astonishing X-men. He really makes her look like a Queen. Thanks for the FAV!

the colors are good , dont like the pink flowers tough

Thanks a whole lot. I used the pink flowers to not make the piece look so "green" but looking back, the pink flowers may be a little distracting. As far as the boots, I like them, but they are still a work in progress. The "masks" are actually mountains BUT the original reference was actual African Masks

I am trying to include as much African influence as I can. The Akan symbol for Sankofa is seen throughout the designs on her clothing.

PS. thanks for the FAV!
