Whoa! Although I love the rest of this collection, as well (and Rictor and Shatterstar are a fave couple for me, while Mystique is one of my favorite villains/ anti-heroes), this one will get the comments.
Xi'an rarely gets any fan art, which is sad, since she is a very interesting character, with a well-defined past and personality.
You made her look so beautiful here, and it looks exactly like her. From the attitude to the clothing choices (just like everyone else from this collection).
I would love to see more New Mutants art from you.

Hey Cesar, I grew up on New Mutants man. And while I really like them all - Dani, Berto, Sam and Rahne...Xi'an always stood out; even though she was the original team leader, she was always low key, responsible, elegant and modest. You're right, those traits; among others; have stuck to her for 30 years now. I was drawn to the book for the Cultural diversity and stayed for the characters and stories.
I'm thrilled that she's getting more attention now, but she paid the price of notoriety with a leg. ouch.

I am 32 now, but I did my best to get the whole NM collection as soon as I could. I love the 80s, you know? And the New Mutants (and Power Pack) are my favorite from then.
Karma has got to go through so many things, and yet she still fights on, mostly for others. I think that is where she draws strength from, the need to help those around her. Like those months in the desert, when she was about to give up until the Norns created a situation that forced her to get the will to live.
Misty Knight has a sexy arm, but Xi'an gets that ugly leg...

Gorgeous! Xi'an looks elegant, graceful and serene. The posing and the dress insure that there's a very sophisticated vibe about her which I adore. I love that she's drawn in such a way that we can see her race... from those beautiful eyes to the high cheekbones to the larger lips, we can see that she's Asian. I appreciate it when artists take the time to make sure characters resemble their ethnicities. Her face itself is very alluring and has a mysterious quality to it that draws me into it. I could look at it for days! As for the dress, that's a masterpiece in and of itself. Draping is not easy but the flow of the fabric is just perfect. Lastly, I'm loving that necklace! It's totally inspired by the SFX of her powers, isn't it?

She has always been the most collected of the New Mutants. Not shy or insecure - that was Rahne; just reserved and serious. I'm guessing because she was forced into a parental role early on in life. I was always drawn her, maybe for those character traits.
I love ethnicity. Living in NYC I've met people from all over. Reflecting that in my work is something I really enjoy. Thank you for noticing.
I know I wanted something really delicate for her to be dressed in, but I also wanted to cover her bionic limb. Not a fan of it. The dress did what I wanted and worked really well in the piece.

Oh I'm so glad you covered that damn bionic leg. I just think it's really lame that so far they've had two of the X-gays get one of their limbs lopped off. First Anole's arm gets chopped off then Karma's leg. It's ridiculous! I'm like "LEAVE KARMA ALONE!!" *Chris Crocker voice* I'm totally happy that I can't see that eyesore in this drawing. Props to you. Heh. I'm quite special since I noticed that the necklace was inspired by her powers... does that mean I get a special prize? 
I'm so jealous that you live in NYC. XD That's somewhere I've always wanted to go but have never really gotten around to it. Of course, I live in Toronto and we're an extremely multi-cultural city with pretty much every ethnicity and sexuality you can think of. I grew up with a lot of diversity around me and have come to really crave it in the media I see despite the fact that I'm just a white dude.

I crave it in media too. Just because it helps me relate. In my crew at work alone we've got Korean, Chinese, Egyptian, Bengali, Dominican(me), Salvadorian, Colombian, Puerto Rican, Italian , Jewish, Black, German, 2 Ukranians (1 is gay) and 2 white women (1 is gay).
I enjoy that.

Given the universe she lives in, there's really no reason they could have like... grown Karma another leg and attached it. It just seems silly that she has this eye-sore of a leg that she doesn't even like. It's really too bad they had Forge go crazy... otherwise he'd be able to design her a sexy prosthetic.
Oh yeah, Toronto is a fabulous city! It's really the only city I've known but I am glad I was able to grow up here. We have a lot of problems like a lot of other Metropolitans but I am proud to come from Toronto. I'm always surprised when I hear people say they'd like to visit Toronto someday since I always think that for one reason or another that Americans think that Canada doesn't exist. XD Of course, if you ever come to Toronto you've got a great tour guide right here.

She had to grow up fast, losing her parents early and having to be a parent to her little brother and sister. That likely has a lot to do with it.
